Overdue update
Hi all, its been a long time but here i am again.
In December 2013 I came out of remission again (3rd time), i was put on maintenance therepy of lanolidomide-dex, all seemed to be going well then last month i started to get ill and found it hard to sleep at night, i had a cough that would come when i moved. I went to Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge here in the uk where i was admitted, cutting a long story short it turned out that i had a chest infection, nemonia and flu, i ended up in intensive cars where i have been told that my family were told to expet the worse, however i had different ideas and made a very speedy recovery, within 5 days of leaving ICU i was discarged.
I have restarted my maintenance therepy again and all seems good again. I was lucky i know.
I also look at it this way, i beat the above 3 at the same time, there is no reason why i cant keep this myeloma at bay aswell. I have now lived with it for nearly 7 years and hope to have lots more years aswell.
Dont give in, keep fighting and dont forget they are your cells all be it they have gone on the rampage, love them, talk to the ( as daft as it sounds).
I look forward to writing again in the future.
