over the kidney infection and doin a cleanse

hey everyone! how's it goin! please bare with me, i have a lot to post here.... some of you may remember that i have been fighting a kidney infection... well i'm 100% recovered from that now! but last week i was having horrendous stomach pain for a week straight (another ibs flare) and it didn't matter if i went to the bathroom or not, it still hurt like hell. so i went on the net and did some research... found some stuff about needing digestive enzymes, cleanses, the built up undigested toxic food against the walls of your intestines, yada yada..... i know that a lot of us have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and that it probably has something to do with our nerve endings lining our intestinal walls, and they miscommunicate with our brains and "misfire' like the rest of our irritated nerves in our bodies. BUT, what i just mentioned the paragraph above probably adds to the irritation as well. so i found this 5 days RAW veggie and fruit cleanse i thought i should try. it's VERY strict. for the next 5 days, the following are BANNED from your diet: proteins of any kind (beans, meats, nuts, tofu, etc), dairy, starches, carbs, sweets, preservatives, no caffeinated drinks, no carbonated drinks. The only seeds and fragments of nuts you are allowed to eat are on your salad(as toppings). Basically, if it's not a raw veggie or a raw fruit, don't eat it. fruit juices are encouraged but make sure it's no added sugar and it has no preservatives. herbal teas are good to go as well (no caffeine). and try to eat as many as organic as possible. (organic foods have the most digestive enzymes) i wanted to post this on a day to day here but didn't have the time (sorry.....) so you're all getting the report at once now..... here's how i responded: DAY 1: ate salad and cut up fruit for breakfast... was still hungry, so i kept eating. ended up cleaning out the rest of the veggie drawer in the fridge. basically i felt like an endless bottomless pit of hunger. but the stomach pain was gone form the morning i started (made a huge BM after breakfast) DAY 2: had some stomach pain for a short bit in the morn but then it went away after going 2x. Cleaned out the rest of the fruit drawer and then before the end of the day, i had to go to the store and buy a boat load of veggies and fruit to restock to fridge for the following week. i felt really tired and weak, unusually weak. like i wanted to go to sleep for a long time. DAY 3: still very tired and weak but stomach very very pleased. DAY 4: sleepy. ready for when it's over. made a very huge BM in the morn. saw primary doc and discussed bladder and bowel control issues etc. also talked about the cleanse i'm on. she told me that my blood pressure is 97/60, probably why i'm so tired. and since it's really good for the ibs, recommends that i do it at the beginning of every month as a maintenance. really?? oh man... i don't know if i can do this every month. maybe every other month. after i got home, i ran to the bathroom and found out why it's called a "CLEANSE"..... nuff said. DAY 5: that's today. i'm motivated! i'm happy! i made it! i't s the last day! YAAAYYYY! i can't wait to order a big fat pizza tomorrow!!!!! today's my last day today's my last day todays' my last day! NOTE: i didn't do this to lose any weight. BUT, i have been losing about about an average of 1 pound per day. so if you wanna lose some weight and cleanse out every month AND lower your blood pressure AND your cholesterol, go ahead and try it. it does teach you some patience though. lol ok.... time to start some probiotics now after all those ANTIbiotics for the kidney infection.... take care y'all!
