over boiled

Although I knew it was a matter of time - I am glad that it happened.  Perhaps we can move forward with T. Poor guy.  I feel for him. He's now facing his "demon", so to speak. For the last few months he's avoided working on his 8 page paper he needs to complete in order to receive his high school diploma.  He's been finding every excuse under the sun not to do it. He has help available but we cannot help him if he's not here.  Well, last night my husband got home rather late from tennis (he and his buds socialize after playing at the club) and when he got home T was here watching TV.  Needless to say, my husband got into it with him - prodding him to get him to explain to him why he hasn't been around to work on his paper. Well, it didn't take much before T exploded!  Crying, screaming and letting it all out. He is very mad at himself that he messed up in school and now doesn't have the high school diploma from the school he graduated from.  He also did the blame game of why he can't work on his paper because "Mom hoards her laptop" (which isn't true - he has full reign to work on it when he wants to) and he found some other excuses as well.  All I know is that it's evident that he may have some depression - no surprise there.  I doubt he will want counseling but maybe that outburst will help him to move forward.  Poor guy can't get past the fact that his high school diploma will not have his school name on it. Trying to convince him that in the long run - it really won't matter.  And if people ask where he went to high school - that's what they ask - not where did you graduate from....  Update: Just as I thought - the "blow up" was necessary.  T was able to release some of his frustrations and his disappointments.  Last night he worked on his paper!  Baby steps!

Yep, all the employer wants to know is that you graduated! Hope those baby steps add up to 8 pages soon! Take Care!!!

Glad his outburst cleared the air for him to get it out! Went through a similar ordeal recently with M. and we were actually glad because she holds alot in. Only way we can really know is for them to rant and rave sometimes right? He\'s moving on, just not in the path he thought he was on! Good luck!
