Outing: Coffee and Shopping

I went out with a pal for coffee, jumped the line at Einsteins and chose not to eat so we could just have coffee. Not the greatest idea as I was starved by the time I got back home.  We enjoyed the outing; I get so few now. She took me shopping at a popular thrift store as I need a summer wardrobe. Due to the steroids, and now the Gabapentin, I've gained weight. I'd just given away all my clothing 6 months ago. I now need the next size up again. *sigh* It didn't cost me much though. I bought a casual dress, two pairs of day shorts and 2 pairs of dress shorts, plus a pair of denim shorts. I got two white tees, a yellow polo, a brand new floral tee to go with my black skirt for church, and two casual tees for everyday. I got a brown knit skirt that will go with everything. I think these additions to my wardrobe will suffice for the summer. It doesn't look like many items but I have scaled back everything in my life, my books and movies, my wardrobe and shoes to make my life easier. I don't have to have an abundance of things in my life now. It is so freeing!! As I became less able to do my daily tasks, I started giving things away, putting things in storage and preparing for a life with less. I thought I'd miss my stuff but I don't at all. Next time I'm going to keep my size up in a box for when I have steroids. I don't like spending the same money over and over, especially on clothing.  Shopping tires me still but I was able to get done what I needed to, which was a pleasure. I also found another microwavable heating pad, this time one for the upper back and neck for a fraction of the original cost. I washed the outer cover and now have a way to ease the pain without medication in two areas of my spine, simultaneously. Win/win for the day. I had to take a nap though as I really wasn't feeling well. I'm up now, watching some tv and relaxing. I took 2 Aleve to relieve the pain in my neck and lower lumbar as it kicked in post-shopping trip. I'm feeling a little better now. Thanks for asking.
