Out of the Blue...

...got a phone call from my brother's ex-wife saying that my sister checked herself into the hospital for numbness in her arm and both legs, and, after an MRI, got word that she has "lesions on her brain".  They're in the process for diagnosing her to see if she has early stages of MS.  Sheesh.  It ain't cancer, but it can be pretty bad, and can leave the recipient in a wheelchair as it progresses.  Pray for her!  I'm going to get up to Orlando to see her this week, and try to offer encouraging words and get her to laugh.  She has been under stress for a long time, because she's the primary breadwinner for her family (with husband and one-year-old son) as a full-time graphic artist.  Her husband is working hard struggling to get a health insurance business rolling, and he's working on signing up some groups in group plans.  It takes time to build up those residual commissions.  If the disease renders her immobile, they're going to need help in every sense of the word.  I don't have money to give them, but I certainly have free time during the week, so I can watch their son (who's adorable).  Trouble is, they live 200 miles away!  But her husband's family lives close to me, as does mine, so, if they decide they need a change of scenery and move down here, I'll be happy to babysit.
