Out and About Luv Summer

Ok today I got up early did my chores and took myself on the city bus across to the other side of Brooklyn.  Today's road trip was Brighton Beach, near Coney Island.  I went to my favorite gourmet store to see what what goodies I could find.  I bought raw honey from Latvia, 1 lb $3.00, Frozen Wild Salmon, $3.99 lb.  Boxed fruit  juices from Israel 99 cents a liter.  Assortment of Dim Sums frozen for $2.00 a lb.  Ginger Snaps w/lemon filling from England $1.00.  They had a large tray of African Violets none were in bloom for 50 cents apiece, I bought four plants.  I will see if I can get these darlings to flower for me. I have been so bummed out.  I want to move to SW Florida so badly.  I have been looking at the cutest Mobile Homes in 55+ Communities.  You own your own land and maintenance is only $117.00 a month including garbage removal.  A two bedroom Mobile approx 1,000sq. ft. is about $50,000., completely furnished. The time to buy is now, carpe diem, sieze the day and opportunity.  The community has a swimming pool.  I have bad arthritis and narapathy and lets's face it, I am so overweight, so water exercise is the ticket.  I so enjoy the pool.  My dilemma is I am alone.  I would like to have someone who would enjoy this kind of life.  Winter in the south and summer up north. My friend  Al was on the fence, and now he is saying he would never live there and is trying to pooh pooh my dream.  I am still a young woman and want another adventure.  I have had it with travelling overseas.  I have been all over the world.  I want a little Mobile Home and a grapefruit tree thats all.  Yes I am scared.  All my family are here in New York and friends too.  Gas is high and the cost of living is high too.  Maybe I will just rent something this winter and see if it is for me. Also, I am starting to hear the other shoe drop, with regards to Mr. Al.  I am not a materilistic woman, or I should say, I can support myself.  Always have, always will.  BUT, he either does not have much money or he is too afraid to spend it, always telling me about how he was going to do something for me BUT, BUT BUT.  I am starting to think I may give him the BUTT OF MY SHOE SOON.   OH WELL Going to play with my new African Violets,  I  named them:  Ala-Bama for Linda, Snowy, for Kitty,  Red for Julia, and Angel for Jannis.  Now they will all get flowers, cause some of my DS sisters are in on them. LuvRee

I think you\'ll have your home in Fla. Keep sending out the vibes and it will come back to you. Sorry to hear about Al. If he\'s too afraid to spend his money maybe you should marry him and then you can show him how. You\'re very good about spending money wisely. He could learn a lot from you.

When my parents retired they did a smart thing .. They rented a trailor down in Florida.. To see if they liked it or not.. The area was getting rough, so after a few years of renting thruout the winter, they found they really liked vero beach and bought a condo there ..
I think thats the smart way .. Rent a trailor in the area you think you\'d like.. ALso I seriously recomment the 55 community thing.. You might just meet the man of your dreams..
Go for it .. It can\'t hurt..

What a honor.....hope that your violets bloom and bring you much joy.......
Think your idea of living in Florida in the winter and NYC in the summer is a wonderful idea....I know Snow Birds who truly enjoy this way of life....
I would think that you would not have a hard time getting to know people....Florida is nice and a different way to live-- that\'s why so many enjoy it and live there....
