Our song
I am one of those people thats beleives in signs. I was pretty much raise by my grandmother growing up. She was my everything but I was a teenager and of course would never show that to her. I always thought she would be around forever. When I was 14 she died suddenly of a heart attack at the young age of 67. My family was afraid to tell me cause they knew I would not take it well at all. When my father told me I went into complete silence. No way she was gone. I went to my room and turned on the radio. Short time later the song "wind beneath my wings" came on. That was my song to my grandmother from then on. It was perfect just like she was to me. Every time I heard the song I would cry for many yrs after her death. There are still times I cry for her to this day. She died 19 yrs ago this year. She was my backbone and best friend and I wish I had told her that before she died but like I said I thought she would be here forver at the time. A few yrs ago I was driving down the highway listening to Delilah on the radio. She was taking request and I wanted to call and request that song for my grandmother. I saw a sign for a rest area 2 miles up the road. I had planned to stop and call. The radio went silent for a few seconds and then the song began to play. Noone had called it in. but it was on my radio at the moment I wanted to call and request it for my grandma. I pulled over I was cryin so hard. I beleive in my heart that was her sending our song to me. When I was pregnant with Max there was a song that I loved to listen to. A very upbeat song. I would crank it up and sing to Max and dance in my seat in the car and I could feel him move like he was dancing and singing with me. I declared that song our song. I pictured him many times when he was born dancing and singing that very song with me someday and how wonderful it was goin to be. When I went to go to the funeral home to sign papers this past tuesday, I was sad and crying for my lil Monkey Max. I just kept saying that this was parents nightmare and Im living it rite now. I wanted my boy sooo bad. When I got about one mile from the funeral home, with tears in my eyes, OUR song came on the radio. I cranked it up, and sang along. My lil Max was tellin his Momma everything was goin to be okay and that he doin good. I just know in my heart and soul Max and my grandma played that song for me to cheer me up before going into funeral home. I just brought Max's ashes home today. I thought it would be so sad and horrible for me but it wasnt. For some reason I felt releived. My lil boy was home. My neighbors prob think Im insane cause I was talking to the box in my hands walking up the stairs. I was welcoming Max home and told him to excuse the mess..Momma hasnt been feelin well lately..lol..I put the box next me and played our song to welcome him home. Ive never seen the singer before so I brought up the video on the comp. My mouth dropped when I saw the singer. He was almost the spitting image of Max's dad. I had to laugh..and it felt DAMN good to laugh.I beleive in signs and Im tellin ya what...I think My lil Max is goin to be just fine!
