Our Party!
Well, Our party, on the 11th, went amazingly well! We had the best time ever! The whole weekend was awesome! Everytime I looked over at my parents they were smiling and glowing, so all the hard work and planning was sooooo worth it! For anyone, I haven't told.....we (my parents and I) planned a huge party for just over 100 people for their 50th anniversary. I'm an only child so it came down to just the 3 of us, but we had A LOT of really wonderful people pitch in and help and we couldn't have done it without them.My mom's sister is a whiz with decorating, so she took over the hall decor and did a beautiful job of it. I have a couple of cousins who chipped in with emceeing, doing the music and giving the toast. Some other cousins organized a little roast for Dad about their family golf group that goes away every June together. It was hilarious! They gave Mom a "magic wand" (a microphone covered in silver glitter) to hold up anytime she wants Dad to be quiet so she can talk! He's know for being quite the talker. The 2nd day we had a small gathering for brunch and then most of us on my Dad's side (about 50 of us) and my Mom's sister and husband went to my cousin's for an afternoon of visiting, joking around, a lot of picture taking and then a buffet dinner. On the Monday, the 13th, it was my parent's actual anniversary, so Mom, Dad, my Aunt and Uncle and 2 cousins and their Mom, who were from out of town (the last of the out of towners to go home), and I went out for dinner at one of my parent's favorite nice restaurants.(Boy, I got to dress up 3 days in a row! Got to break out the jewelery and everything! ) All in all, it was a great weekend. Lots of fun and laughter. I've got over 200 pictures from everyone's cameras sent to me! We had soooo much fun!
