Our Deepest Fears

Most of us have probably heard something along the lines of "Most of the things people spend their time worrying about never happen anyway"
Well, guess what!  Sometimes they do!
Most of my life I dreaded the thought of being "middle aged" and ALONE!
I met my husband when I was 24 and we married when I was 28.  He was thirty seven.  Neither of us had been married before and we were both totally committed to having this be our one time.  We both agreed that marriage is for life.
I was looking forward to a long many years together as longevity sort of ran in his family.  His Grandmother died just a month before him, two months before her 100th birthday.  His uncle is 93.  There were many others too.
Unfortunately we do not always get to write the script.
I very much enjoyed being married.  (Although my brother says the same thing and he is currently working toward his fifth marriage--no, he has yet to be widowed)
All of us who belong to this group (W&W) know the benefits of being married.  None of us CHOSE for our marriages to end.   Death is the spector who took our loved ones from us.
Regardless of what hopes, plans and dreams I may have had, here I am in middle age.  And I am ALONE.  No children (not by choice), no husband (also not by choice) but you know what..... ?   It is okay.  I am OKAY!  and you know what else?  THAT is by choice.
I choose to be okay.  I cannot control evernything, but I can control me, and my attitude.  Would I like to be married again?  If I could find someone who was a good match and an awesome guy, sure--like I said, I liked being married.  But do I NEED to be married again?  Nope, I am fine!  I am happy, I am even joyful!
God is GOOD- ALL the time!
By the way, yes 50 IS middle age, when you plan to live to be 130 like I do, it is very EARLY middle age!  LOL
