Our Anniversary

Sweetheart on Friday I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary. Although we are not physically together I know that in our hearts our love affair will continue on through eternity.
the day started with a mass in your honor at St Lucy's
On Friday I went to the house you grew up in and I saw you waving to me from your bedroom window, I then went by St john the Baptist Church and I saw both you and I on our wedding day exiting the church to begin our life together, right after we stated till death due us part, I then proceeded to go to behind the Eastman Gelatin Plant to where we use to go parking. I visited you at our cemetery plot, than went to Mom and dad's grave ( once again I could not find them because there are no headstones) then I went to your mom and dad's grave. I prayed that all of our parents are with you and that you are watching over me and the family.  I wanted to go the golf course where we went sledding and shared our first kiss. I remember just before you died you said to me remember the night we went sledding that's when the magic happened to us.  Finally I called Denise and asked to her lunch as our maid of honor to help me celebrate.  We had a great lunch and then I went to dinner with Kathy at night.  I was surprised how much I enjoyed the day that I have dreaded for months because I know you were still there by my side.

On Saturday my world once again came crashing in and I had a day of intense grieving. it started when I got home and I relived the day you passed out on the floor and I thought I had lost you then but I am grateful that you stayed with me for another coupe of weeks.  I was very depressed and I did not know who to call so I was inspired by God or you to look for some support on line.  I Googled this site daily strength for widows and widowers and in addition to seeing Celeste and the great support network  we have. this site is a group of people who also have been left behind and trying to continue on this journey of life without the love of their lives.  I am very grateful for finding this site and I believe it will be one more thing along with my faith and love for you that will get me through this journey.

I love you and miss you so very much.  May God hold you in the palm of His hands.

Love you Forever

It sounds like you had a lovely day with your memories. Concentrate on those memories and hold on tight to them. They will sustain you through the bad days. I envy you your faith. I seem to have lost mine. Hugs Patti

Your lucky your still in the area to have a day of memories like that. It sounds like you had a wonderful marriage and she was the love of your life, just like my husband was to me. I drive and remember times like that in our life, oh they were wonderful. I\'m glad you had that day. Happy anniversary even under the circumstances it\'s still your anniversary. I just said a prayer for you. I hope it helps. (((Hugs))) Linda
