Other Memories from Year 1

I am trying to think back to my first year of grieving in case anything I experienced might be of some help to anyone here.  I know we all have to do what works for us, but sometimes just knowing that what you are experiencing, thinking, or feeling is not something just you have done, helps.
I remember occasionally feeling the need to do something completely "out of the norm" for me.  Once my pastor and his family invited me to attend a school basketball  game.  Not something I had done for years because all of the "kids" in our family had grown up long ago.  I went and it was wonderful.  It was a chance to get out of the house and be around people without anyone really expecting me to have much conversation!
Something else I remember was that I would have many very bad days, but as time passed, occasionally I would have a day that wasn't so bad.  As time passed the bad days actually slowly decreased.  I could actually start to tell people that "last week I had two good days instead of only one, which was how the previous week went."  Eventually I began to have weeks with more ok days than bad days.  And now I finally have many okay, and even great days.  And for the most part the BAD days have shrunk down to become "bad moments".
Oh, I still miss and love my husband every minute of every day, but it does not HURT all of the time anymore.
I hope that this will encourage someone that the passage of time really can help!
I wish you peace and hope today.

This is a comfort to me as I think it is slowly becoming bearable. Some days are bad but I think the OK days are coming more often.
