Orientation!
I had a great time at orientation today! I made a friend in the very first small meeting we had, and then we went to get our schedules. I was really scared because they kept saying we weren't gonna get good classes, but I got AMAZING classes! Intro to Math (requirement), Abnormal Psych, Social Psych, and Women, Sexuality and Gender Studies! I have no classes starting earlier than 10 and none ending later than 2! Also my advisor is super nice and she seemed to care about us individually. She cared about getting to know me and at Framingham State I always felt nobody actually cared. I didn't wanna try because I didn't care but here I do!
Also, everyone was really friendly! There were a good number of transfer students, so I'm not alone with the new feeling. Everywhere I turned people smiled and greeted me. I felt welcome there. I am still really scared but I'm glad orientation went well. They gave me a free planner and tote bag, and I got a t-shirt that asys "UMass Amherst, Irish Style!" LOVE my Irish side and the t-shirt is nice and comfy!
The wind was AWFUL and I literally could not make my way around campus. We had to keep stopping and ducking into buildings because I couldn't breathe from the wind! I'm hoping it's not like that on move in day...
Anyways, when we went to eat I just got water. I know that's cowardly but I had food in the car I brought and didn't feel like being adventurous. This skinny guy had a giant burrito, cheetoes and a big chocolate milk. I just sat there staring at his meal going "Does he know the milk has four hundred calories alone? Oh my god...what's in that burrito?" I can't even go to a caf without being a freak.
I have REALLY bad muscle cramps in my legs and an achy back even though I didn't exercise today for that reason. I am hoping it's not my muscles being eaten up instead of fat. That happened to me freshman year and it was so painful the more it progressed.
Today:
- meatless chicken patty (140)
- apple (80)
- 12 grapes (36)
- 6 wheat crackers (48)
- blueberry blintz (90 cal)
- special K bar (180)
Not nearly enough. Help me out of hell. I can't sleep at night. I'm so sick of this. I want to enjoy college!!!!!

glad you had a good orientation day sorry that your struggling try adding exercise into your daily planning like 5 times a week for half and hr to an hr or so and then youll naturally feel hungrier so add a bit more fruit in there maybe for breakfast if you can stomach breakfast, bit more protein and healthy low gi carbs for lunch and dinner and maybe a small snack before bed
Orientation sounded FANTASTIC!!!!!! I\'m so glad that it went so well!!! I think you\'ve landed in just the right place!!!!! Your classes and your schedule sound GREAT!!!!!
I don\'t like hearing that about your muscles, though!!!!
Have you ever checked out this page at Something-Fishy.org ?
It tells which vitamin and mineral deficiencies cause what symptoms. There\'s a few of them that cause muscle cramps.
Now, don\'t forget to read the part at the top where it stresses that it\'s important to get these vitamins and minerals from FOOD, not just pills!!!!
Maybe you could look over the list and see if you can figure out which, if any, of those vitamins and/or minerals you might be deficient in and then think of what kind of food you could put in your diet to make those cramps go away!!!

I\'m sorry that your illness keeps you so focused on food -- even other people\'s food!!! Doesn\'t make you a freak, though!!! It\'s just the nature of the disorder!!!
Woohoo!!!! I hope school turns out to be every bit as fun as it sounds like it\'s going to be!!!!! ((((((((Hugs))))))))
I am so happy for you about the new school! Maybe now that is out of the way you can ease up on yourself in other ways and beat ED!
I am so happy orientation went so well. Sorry about the leg/back cramps and aches- sometimes when we do not drink enough fluids that can be a problem. Hydration is important. Keep up the good work. (((hugs)))
