Or maybe not....
So the great plans that friends were going to bring me care packages of real food never happened. I got a loaf of homemade bread and that has been the end of the care packages. So much for that idea working out. My daughter and I have been working hard to make sure that I am getting at least 1,000 calories a day and that has been helping - but when one is promised lamb curry and non-daily ice cream, oatmeal with cinnamon and sugar just doesn't cut it.
The good news is that the end is in sight. Tomorrow I take my low dose of I-131. Monday is my scan. Unfortunatley my RAI had to be postponned until Wednesday due to scheduling conflicts at the VA hospital.
The good news is that Wednesday night I get to eat REAL FOOD. I have informed hubby that on the way home from the hospital, we are stopping in downtown Seattle, rush hour or not, to get me a Tat's sub. They make the best pastrami with cheese and coleslaw that is just to die for. By the time we get me settled down in the hotel room enough time will have passed that I will be able to EAT IT.
At that point it is just surviving the six days of RAI isolation, with care packages dropped off my hubby and daughter (who really will drop off the care packages). After that I have one more scan on the 31st, and my first apt with the vocal therapist in early Oct.
I can live through this.
The good news is that with my sleeeping most of the days away, my back has not been hurting.
