Oppression at Work

So before Halloween I decorated my lobby at work with innocent Fall decorations and mentioned I love Fall and that Halloween is my favorite Holiday. I was shocked when no one else agreed and then proceeded to put me down and state that Christmas is more important. Then a client proceeded to tell me that Halloween is Satan's holiday and that I don't belong to God, and none of my coworkers defended me. I was so upset and hurt. I realize the statements made towards me were made out of ignorance and fear but it was still hurtful and frustrating. Especially when I think about the fact there are religious groups who can acceptably attack people like that while a peaceful person such as myself has to keep my mouth shut and put up with abuse.
