Onward IV

The passing of Halloween feels like a bit of a landmark for Hubs and I. The displays were first springing up when the funeral chaos began. The childish campaign for costumes, et al, was Big Bro's first step toward the new normal after the funeral was done. Big Sis added her 3 year old enthusiasm to his with 3 year old gusto. Big Bro was twice as picky with his costume choice. He had to special order his game trademarked costume from China and it has yet to arrive. Gamer Norm achieved. A day late and a dollar short for life outside the box. He attended last night's Trunk or Treat in a Walmart off-the-shelf costume. He took that ego-blow in stride and a splendid time was had by all. Gampy claimed that he and Baby Sis had traded skin for their costumes. She was him and he was her. We were all a little worried about Baby Sis slobbering on the turn signals.

The first of the materials for the housing upgrade are scheduled to be delivered today. The double wide manufactured home is perking its way through the factory grinds as I type. Projected delivery is the week after next. Prayers in progress. . .

I received the processing notification from the hatchery for the delivery of the chicks I had ordered for the next chicken flock increase. I placed the order before the tragedy. Perhaps even before the CPS drama. I really can't remember when, exactly, I placed the order. The logic was to have the colorful egg layer flock old enough to be producing eggs by Easter. My confidence isnae what it was when I placed the order, whenever that was. Wrestling with my doubts still hasnae produced the confidence to cancel the order. I am in the last days of that window and? ? ? Still no clarity. Sorting. . . The whisper from the quiet voice says to let it be. I think. Listening. . . That quiet voice is hard to hear on the calmest of days. We have barely achieved, "Not Worse." The big for sure is that it doesnae feel like the most important item on our LFL (Long Fucking List) these days.

Stepping small and praying big. For now, I am grateful for the deep, restful sleep I feel soaking the house this chill Friday morn. The restful respite is sorely needed. October has been a hard month for all.

Thank you, guys. We haven't quite made it to the laughter yet, but smiles and appreciation are a good start.
