Oneday

Dearest,
I awoke this morning and looked at the weather station, I have to stop doing that, it said –4°. I looked out the window, it was snowing a good steady snow. I put the covers over my head and tried to go back to sleep, it was Sunday after all. We’re not going to thaw out till August. It’s so discouraging, and depressing.
Spent most of the day with the grandsons. Was fun, Thing #1 asked about you. I went into a reverie, what to tell him, how to explain death to a two year old? I don’t understand it myself, how can I teach? I’m not going to lie to the child. Maybe I’m lying to myself, but that’s different, I’m supposed to know better. While Pop Pop was thinking all these thoughts his two year old brain moved on to the next item on his agenda. Phew, saved by his hummingbird like attention span. I spoke with Kristin later, she hasn’t addressed this issue with him yet. She doesn’t want to lie to him either, we are preparing in case he asks after you again, I remembered that he liked you. I also remember that you were flabbergasted by that.
Didn’t do much else today and next weekend promises to be almost as busy, my birthday! I did rake the roof, trying to keep the ice load to a minimum. The next snow is forecast for Tuesday. Oh Joy! Still haven’t finished the laundry. The house needs to be cleaned, really cleaned, I don’t have the time! I have three full time jobs! Filling out paperwork, cleaning up the storm messes, and my regular job, when the hell am I supposed to do housework? I hardly have any time to sleep as it is! You know how much I like sleep, especially now when I dream of you.
In dreams I walk with you In dreams I talk to you In dreams you're mine all of the time We're together in dreams, in dreams But just before the dawn I awake and find you gone I can't help it, I can't help it, if I cry I remember that night you died It's too bad that all these things Can only happen in my dreams Only in dreams
In beautiful dreams
Till the snow stops falling, Your Ken
