One year ago tonight...

Today is the one year anniversary of my daughter's passing on November 27, 2007. I have thought about her every day since we lost her to cancer. This has been a difficult year and I am not the same person I was. My life has changed forever. My granddaughter Jessina and I went to visit Libra's grave today. We talked about last Thanksgiving, which was five days before she passed. Jessina made a wonderful dinner, and Libra said it was the best Thanksgiving she had ever had, although she only ate a spoonful of mashed potatoes. The following evening was the last time she was able to speak. She asked if she had a stroke, why couldn't she walk or talk as before. I replied that she was just getting weaker, she didn't have a stroke. The next morning she was non-responsive, and stayed that way until she passed. I am so thankful that I had Libra in my life. She was so appreciative of even the small things I did. I cherish the many letters she wrote me expressing her love and appreciation. She will always be in my heart and thoughts. Libra's Memorial page:   http://www.johnbaxter.com/libra/

John, God bless you. I have thought about you alot in the past several months wondering how you were doing and knowing that the time would be coming around that it would be soon a year. My Dad passed soon be a year Dec 11th. Not a single days goes by that I dont think about him and tears come to my eyes. Time has helped but it has not went away by far the grief I feel for him since hes been gone. I am glad that hes not here to see the condition that Mom is in with dementia and I had to put here in a nursing home a few months back. I am not the same person either and I feel my world has been shattered and a part of me thats gone and that I will never be the same. Thank the good Lord that hes blessed me with Mike who is so wonderful and loving. I pray that God watches over and takes care of you and your family and the hurt will slowly ease up. Always your friend, Beth

Hi,I lost my 25 year old daughter Gemma to Cervical Cancer on 23rd May this year. Gemma is never off my mind so I too know how you are feeling. My world has fallen apart, I am so lost without her. Watching Gemma get weaker and weaker towards the end was unbearable because I knew I could not do anything to help her except being there for her.Gemma loved Christmas . This time last year Gemma had major surgery and we all thought she was on her way to make a full recovery but it was not to be. Gemma spent the whole of last Christmas in hospital. My thoughts are with you as I understand exactly how you are feeling. God Bless. Rita .

What a truly wonderful and special bond you and your daughter had. It is very evident in the way you talk about her. All of us who have lost a loved one are forever changed. It has been almost 14 months since Jim passed and I still think of him everyday and I miss him terribly. We all heal in our own time and in our own way, but we will never be that person we were before. Many hugs and much love to you!
