One year ago today...

One year ago today was my first appointment with my surgical team. That day changed my life and the lives of my family forever. I can't believe how far I've come. Not just with weight loss or even nutrition and exercize. Today is my Mom's birthday. She passed away almost 10 years ago. In the past 9 years I always dreaded this day. It stirred up the grief that hides in my heart. She was my best friend and I didn't know how I was going to live the rest of my life without her. It was pure cooincidence that my appointment landed on her birthday last year but I like to think it means that she wants me to have a happy and healthy life. I think she's with me every step of the way and I know she's cheering me on. With her love and support along with my awesome husband and kids, I've lost 97 lbs. I'm so grateful. I was 286 on this day last year and today I'm 189. I thank my family and the team at Lifeweigh for helping me get my life back. I know I can keep going and make my goal with my knowledge and determination fueled by their love and my unconditional love for myself. Yes, I love myself. Stretchmarks and all. We're all worthy of love.
