one year
One year after my diagnosis is coming up, that is the amount of time that I have decided to accept that this is permanent(I accepted this a long time ago). I am still working out everyday and getting stronger everyday. This has changed things in my life, but I am not going to let it stop me. I just have to adjust my life.

Everyone is different about how and when they go through the grief process. And make no mistake this IS a grief process. You\'re grieving (like me) the loss of yourself...who you thought you\'d be, all those dreams, and all the things you no longer can do...all the things that are changing and will continue to change about you--completely outside of your control.
I\'m going on 5 years now...finally getting acceptance almost every day. But at a year I was still having wild dips in mood and horrible flares...I commend you for trying to come to terms with this so quickly--but don\'t rush yourself!
I really hope you can get to a place of peace with your illness HUGS I seek it too!
