One Week Post-op: The Magic Begins

Yesterday marked the 1 week post-op date after surgery. It was not an easy week to be certain and still so much to learn about what I should and should not be doing but one thing is true...the surgery works. I was so upset when I got out of the hospital 9lbs heavier than when I went in and never ate so much as a bite of anything except a small bowl of yogurt and a small bowl of sugar free jello. When I got out of the hospital I weighed 290lbs (I went in at 281). Less than 5 days later I weighed 276...14lbs in 5 days.
My friend Pam described the months following her sleeve surgery as magical. What an accurate description. To stand on the scale every morning and find myself 2lbs lighter. Magical! I actually believe this crazy road trip may really and truly bring me into a slim body. I am just praying that the magic doesn't end before I get to my destination.
