One Step at a Time

So... This is my 10th day of Pull Free! I saw a woman on here who had a PullFree A Thon and her goal was one year. I'm on day 355 right now (out of my 365 countdown). I keep a little journal on my iphone and I have Days, Urges, What Helps, and Stress Triggers. I think having a conscious reminder that I HAVE to quit helps the most. Every time I feel an urge I record it.

I also currently use Men's Rogaine-- Walmart brand (it says for women not to use it because facial hair could grow) but I haven't had that problem. Just make sure to wash your hands well after every use. I put it on first thing in the morning after my shower so I can dry it with my hair dryer, because if not it can get greasy. Next time I'll buy the women's because it's not as greasy, and works just as well.

I also use Head and Shoulders (green apple scent) to help with the scalp irritation (and itching) from the rogaine. I have definitely noticed it helping a lot. Less itching for me means less urges, which is always wonderful!

I'm also about to start taking Biotin so hopefully that will help, too.

One thing that really did it for me was watching the movie Young Adult, with Charlize Theron, with my boyfriend. In the movie she has trich, and watching her was unbearable... especially since I've never discussed it with my bf. It was a huge wake-up call and every time I get an urge I have flash backs to the scenes where she would pull, or have to cover up her spots. I highly recommend watching it (not because it's a good movie, but because the image of someone else doing it really resonated with me).

I hope this gives y'all inspiration, and that you, too can stop!
