One of the Best Days of My Life

August 18th, 2015 will forever be one of the best days of my life!  Michael was taking me out on a date and wouldn’t tell me where we were going.  He gave me a bouquet of beautiful roses when he picked me up!  We took a little drive and pulled into this place called Botanic Gardens.  I had heard the name before but had no clue what it was.  We were handed a map and went on our way into the gardens.  Each garden had a name and he pointed at one in particular and said we had to save that one for last.  So we started making our way through the gardens and it was absolutely gorgeous!  I kept snapping pictures and oogling over the flowers and water fountains!  It started to sprinkle so we went and got cover in a gazebo in case it started to rain harder.  We didn’t stay long because Michael really wanted to see that last garden he spoke of when we got there.  We go down this staircase and find a grassy area with flowers everywhere and a pond that has a fountain.  Michael grabs me, hugs me tight, and says he has a present for me.  Still clueless, I’m like alright….  He hands me a snow glob and says I’m only allowed to read the one side which was a quote.  I finish reading it and all of the sudden he goes down on one knee and turns the snow globe over, which reads WILL YOU MARRY ME?  Instant tears!  I couldn’t even form words!  I eventually say yes and it’s like the sky opened up.  It down poured on us!  We’re hugging and kissing in this rain and it was the greatest feeling on this planet!  We were soaked instantly.  We finally agree to get out of it but first I wanted a picture of where it was he proposed.  I get down on the ground next to the pond while Michael is leaning over me to shield my phone from the rain, so I can get my hand, the snow globe, and the plaque for the pond in a picture.  I get it and we make a run for the car!  I think once we got there we were both in shock because all we could do was stare at each other.  We started calling our loved ones and friends telling them the news.  I couldn’t stop looking at my ring, it was so sparkly and it felt so unreal!  I finally said yes to marrying my best friend and spending my days with the love of my life!  We at first wanted to hide it from my parents until it was a better time but I decided it was better for them to find out from me than from someone else.  So, the next day I sat them down and told them the news.  They were not happy…for a time that was supposed to be all smiles and happiness, it sucked that they were so disgusted.  Luckily, we have amazing friends and they helped us celebrate and made us feel extremely loved.
