One More Day
I was blessed with a dream/visit from Ed. I have often wished since Ed's passing that I could have one more day with him. I have heard other grieving moms and dads express this wish too. I'm so excited, my dear SOTHS, that in this dream/visit I was gifted with "One More Day!"
So in the dream we were at Ed's apartment. His daughter Christina was there too. She was a young teen at the time. Somehow in the dream we were all cognizant of this being our "one more day." Ed was getting ready for work and I said to him, "Since we only have this day, can you take a break and we can visit and spend some time?" He nodded and decided not to go to work.
He did what he often did when I visited. He played some CD'S and we discussed music. Christina was laying on the floor, then climbed onto his recliner and was hanging half off the chair, just being goofy. Christina fell off the chair and Ed hugged her even though she said she was ok. I remember enjoying watching my son hug his daughter.
Knowing this day was a gift of "one more day" I said to Eddie, "I should run home and get my recorder and record everything you say today, but I've learned that I can still hear your voice in my head when I listen." Ed nodded and smiled. The dream sort of faded and I woke up.
What a gift! This gifted day was so ordinary and simple...nothing special yet beyond special and extraordinary! This dream/visit has taught me that I have this one more day, indeed all our days with right with me. That "one more day" is no more special or sacred than all the days I shared with Ed and I HAVE those!
So grateful to God and Ed for this gift. We have all the best days with us always...
Love and peace to all from Ed and me, Linda ♡

Oh, Linda... This brought tears to my eyes because I know with every fiber of my being that we each long for "one more day." What a beautiful visit from your Ed and I thank you for sharing.
Loving care to each of us as we hold our children and one another on our tender days and all the ones in-between.
Thanks for visiting your mom, Ed, because it not only gave her such a lift, yet it did the same for me. :)
Hand in hand, Heart to heart with love always to you dear Linda, Ed's forever mom.

Linda, I am crying buckets. One more day, wouldn't that be great!! Thank you for sharing and I am so excited that your Eddie visited you and the way your described your dream, it all seemed so real. So wish I could have a dream of my Jeff.
Tight hugs and much love to you and your precious Ed, from Nell and Jeff
Hi Linda, What a blessing your dream was! Thanks for sharing. We all long for 'one more day' & you got to basically experience it! I'm so glad that you got to visit with Ed in your dream. In your words, I can feel how real & moving your dream was- way to come through, Ed! Love & Hugs to Ed & you from Charlie & me, Donna
Linda, you were so blessed with that "one môre day" visit!! I am so happy for you! I had a few special dreams about my Colleen, but everytime I could see het laughing and playing happily, but she was not aware of me. I feel glad to know that she is so happy now, but it hurts that I could not talk to her. There are things that I'd love to tell her, and questions I want to ask her. But maybe that would interfere with her peace and happiness, so then it is best this way, I quess.
Lots of loving hugs to you and Ed!! xxx
What a wonderful dream! And you are right we have all the 'ordinary days' in our hearts.
Tight hugs to you and Ed!
