One Month Since Hospital Visit For Possible Valves
Had to complete another short burst of prednisone. Went for my 1st month check up and he told me he wanted me to be on it at 5 mg for 30 days then 2/1/2 mg until he sees me again. Hoping to stop this cycle of congestion/inflammation that keeps happening every few weeks. It completely shuts me town. The hope is after that amount of time I can quit taking it altogether. We'll see. I'm taking mucinex and NAC. Got myself some cranberry juice, take a lot of vitamins and herb that have been suggested here. Wish they would find something safe and affective to clear up that mess. Feeling really well now since that short burst. As soon as the inflammation clears up I'm good to go. My pedometer broke and I felt like the steering wheel fell off of my bicycle. Walking lost it's appeal, my pedometer was important to me. I got another one that talks to me. I love it. As I'm walking it periodically tell me how far I've gone, how much time I've been walking, how many steps I've taken and how many calories I've burned. I like that. A big LIGHT BULB went on this week. I've been thinking I wanted to walk so many miles a day and I was reading the chart that suggested 10,000 steps. I had to measure my stride and I noticed it was NOT very long (I'm short). I noticed I would have to walk almost 3000 steps to walk a mile. People taller don't have to walk nearly as many steps or take nearly as much time to walk the same distance because of their longer stride. I had not thought of that before. I'm going to start taking note of how many steps I'm walking instead of how far. I walked for 1 hour and 55 min yesterday, 10000 steps and 3.79 mi. Someone else might of walked about 8-11 miles over that amount of time because of their longer stride. I'm not sure about that 10,000 steps either, that took all day, seemed like that's all I did was walk yesterday. That is not an easy accomplishment and would take a lot of committment. I don't think I have it especially with my work scheduled in there. There is no way on bad days I could do that. On bad days, which have been the norm, I'm lucky to get 3000 steps in.
