One month later
I just thought I ought to write an entry since it's been a month since the last one. Not much to say though. The disability is in the lawyers hands. I signed all the papers I'm supposed to. I seem to have found the only answer (expensive) to the health insurance issue but I'm going to see if I can get disability status and stay on my dads instead.
I'm applying for a 6-month live-in program. I waiver a lot on whether or not I think it will be the right place for me. But it is Christian and free. They function on donations. The application process takes some time and then there's a waiting list. I'm guessing I'd probably end up going there in January, unless the wait list is longer.
My therapist has started talking about 'parts', DID (dissociative identity disorder) terminology. She things when I'm dissociating it's other parts fighting to get to the front. It makes sense. The other parts are so filled with fear. And the silence I experience - I can't talk. She thinks that's protector parts. My mind is beginning to wrap around it. And I like her approach. Strengthen the core part, with truths from Scripture, and let the the core part encourage the other parts and bring truth to them. Anyone with DID or a light form of it please feel free to poast comments.
In other news... my 4th brother just turned 13. My parents now have 3 teenagers, 3 in their twenties, and 2 not yet teens.

Hi Beth, I have a form of DID, not the real thing because I know what my other personality does. I call her Little Maria. She is a very frightened little girl who needs a lot of care. I have been taking care of her and mothering her since 1994. That is when she first made herself known to me. I wrote to her and I use my left (non-dominate) hand to allow her to write to me. I found it very effective in knowing what she wanted or needed from me to take care of her. It was really hard when I was working. I could not seem to keep her from ruining my work life. She has a hard time with authority figures. She was raped at age 7. She didn\'t like my daughter, was very jealous of her and caused problems between us. Things are better now. She wanted a good Mom like my daughter had. It sounds wierd to talk about her like she is a different person, but she is or was. It seems I don\'t hear from her much any more. She\'s happy now.
