Ebony has participated in World Steelband festival in Trinidad & Tobago in 2000 where they placed 4th and 2002 where they placed 3rd as well as the World Panorama in 2015 where they placed 9th. Have provided Metronomes with advice and support on a range of issues. Emergency funding enabled us to continue to support our community. The London based Caribbean Heatwave steel pan combo performs a mix of traditional steel pan and can also include Reggae pop classics that will fill the dance floor.
London's world-famous Caribbean event will be bringing its renowned eclectic mix of flamboyant costumes, vibrant colours and booming sound systems to Worthy Farm. As the audience enjoys the world-class DJs performing from the booth inside the gigantic VR headset, cameras film the crowd and mangle their faces with glitching thermal imaging effects in real time. These images are then beamed onto the IICON head via projection mapping using three industrial scale projectors.
Not wanting to rest on their laurels, Gideon Berger and Stephen Gallagher expanded the Block9 operation into two fields in 2019 and debuted their next crazy instalment - IICON. The gigantic stage resembling a head wearing a virtual reality headset blew minds with its sheer size and presence, and really does need to be seen to be believed. The venue is a huge structure built to look like a 1970s New York city block with a yellow cab smashed into the side. Always full of talented gay and queer performers, the club encourages audience participation and experimentation as part of the experience. There is only one rule at NYC Downlow, every visitor must have a moustache to enter - so if you haven't got a real 'stache, you can grab a fake one at the door for a small contribution to charity.
A UK based event entertainment agency, we are sourced to supply musicians, bands, and entertainers, for venues, weddings, and private events, throughout the UK and internationally. Informal work Shop – This is the most popular workshop in schools and college; this workshop takes place over one day or half day and can accommodate 1- 7 classes. This involves 2 or 3 tutors coming in to deliver the workshop, with their own steel pans. This kind of workshop is divided into 30 or 45 minutes segments. Many of the steel band musicians are from the Caribbean and have moved over to The UK to learn, teach and play for fun and entertainment.

Additionally, we can also bring in extra equipment to accommodate you, even if you only book us to play electrics-free as an all-acoustic steel band. One final point to make is that we don’t always play as a band. This is because we also offer solo and duo options, as well. These can be performances that are amplification-free and fully live or ones using backing tracks. Nevertheless, these options best suit the smallest of events, the smallest of client budgets and virtual events. We’re in high demand as an acoustic (unplugged!) steel band and particularly as a trio.
