one for the record books!!!!

Today was one of those days where anything that can go wrong will go wrong. So this morning I wake up with an E-mail for a job interview. I email back saying sure no problem. I Jump through about 50 hoops to find last minute childcare for Ian. Well as im running around the house like a crazy woman in nothing but sock underwear and a bra because I am scared Ian will dirty my suite I still have not got a confirmed email back saying that the appointment is on. SO I finally call the place after looking it up on line because they found me and she tells me she sent me 2 emails back, neither of which I got. So I finally get dressed get Ian all packed up and go drop him off. I go to enter the address in my GPS and it cant find the place!! Are you freaking kidding me!! Its in DC yet it cant find Connecticut street!! No idea how they lose a whole street but they do. I call DH because i am frantic I have never been to DC I cant find my way there with out GPS. Well he leaves work early to meet me half way and give me his GPS which found it. (I have the newer GPS so go figure). We also switch cars because im driving a suv and he has a prius.
Well i leave not only my wallet in my car but my coat and gloves. I have no idea about parking but im pretty sure you have to pay for everything plus I have no ID!! Im freaking out. Well i get to the general area and what do I see-- A parking space free for 2-hours!!!! BINGo. Except for one small problem,. I cant parallel perk. I spend 15 minutes trying to park im asking random people on the street to help. The car behind me is a Lexus and the driver is in there. I guess she gets scared of me hitting her car so she gets out and helps me park it. Finally. So i embark on my journey to find this building. Did i mention my shoes ya they are brand new 5" stilettos!! And DC is not regular sidewalks. Its like bricks and this cobble stone stuff. So i look like a person having seizures as I trip over myself every other step. How I didnt eat it and fall down is beyond me. I’m positive there are 2 u-tube videos out there of me today. One of me parking and one of me walking. Well i get lost after some well meaning girl tells me to go the opposite way. So I am freezing by the time I get to the building. And of course you have to remember I am freezing. Its like 36 degrees and snow on the ground. Everyone is in coats and scarves and gloves. And then there is me looking like im in California. I was so cold. My hands were frozen solid and my nose was red. I could only think that they were going to think I did a line of cocaine before I got there. So I find the building and of course its secure so I need to show my id—ya know the one that is at home in my wallet 1 ½ hours away. I almost burst into tears. I guess he felt pitty on me because he let me up. Well my interview went very very well. It is with a very large well known firm. She really liked me. She said I should know something in a few days. Im not to happy with the pay so I am not sure I would even take it. I still have a few other things in the works. But we will see. Im a little nervous about working for such a big well known firm. I kinda don’t think ill like the people we will represent, but we will see. I am still looking for a short term nanny and having a hard time finding anyone even interested. Oh well that is all for now folks!!
