One Day at a time journey
I have found by not using that my thoughts are more clear and the negativity seems to be less than on a day I have it all figured out. I have start reading again. I have been reading self help books such as addictive personalalities and it gives another way of trying to understand the illness. I have read plenty of books in the past however not really taking the first step in participating in a meeting. I am looking forward in the meeting this evening and willing to embrace the challange of staying sober.

I had a frustrated afternoon and I attended a meeting last evening and went over step number 3. I really got something out of the reading and will apply the step to my life. I am grateful that I had another day of sobriaty and its a new day. I understand about the long road to recovery and it took a long time to admitt I am an addict. I completely understand it will take patience and dedication to heal. All I am looking to do today is be a better person and enjoy life in the present. For those who are in my position, there is help out there and you don\'t have to suffer with the disease alone. I have a new day to enjoy my journey.
Jan 7th has come and gone and I worked on my faith in the Higher Power. I was tested on recieving some not so good news and I was able to stop and think and not over react to it. I was able to channel my thoughts to the moment and allow my self to make a good decision for the out come. I enjoyed eating dinner vs. intaking the substance. My day has been very productive so far and the calmness is so very present. I completely understand about living in the moment which in the past I had no clue what it really meant. Thank You God for believing in giving me the strenght to live
Another day of sobriatey and it seems that my mind is starting to function again. I have been reading a great book \"Change your Mind and Your Life will Follow\". It has broken down the things that I have been stuggling for 40+years and questions about the Higher Power. I am happy that I focus on my self and making better decisions in my life. Living in the moment is real and reliving the past can be harmful. It mention that we have 2 voices in our heads and that is of the ego: which is loud and wants all the attention and then their is the Higher Power which is soft and gentle. I love living with the Higher Power that speaks with softer and a wiser voice. It allows me to stop and think what is the better choice of action to take. I don\'t dwell on using any more. I rather work on getting healthier and loving life for what god has graced me with. It was very cold this morning but feeling to cold air gave me a great feeling inside to enjoy the crispness and seeing the blue sky gives me the calm feeling of how special life is.
Here goes. 10 days of being sober. Yahoooo. My weekend was not done alone. I am stilled awed finding the higher power in my life. I got to work out for the first time in decades and each day I felt great, mentaly and spiritually. I started projects and finished them such as house work. I did not have an agenda but to stay clean and work on the mental aspect. I went and saw a movie by myself and enjoyed the moment and movie. I was able to function like most humans. lol. I shoveled snow with out laboring because I had to due it but I did it feeling with some importance. I made dinner for my self and then I went to another meeting and participating. The support there is so special and as an addict it is great to have people care so much. I felt warm inside when a member thanked me for coming back. Just think only a few kind words make a difference in someones life. I am so lucky to have found god before it was to late. One day at a time is all I need.
Another day has gone by and I feel great!!! I am so bless that I have found the higher power that has been with me every step. I feel the peace and calm and actually enjoying life sober. One of the books have been reading shares that all the chaos that recreate is unneccary. How true of a statement. If we live in the moment and not worry about what will happen if......we can think clearly and react to situations calm and rationally. Having a higher power with me makes me that much stronger. As long as I am living I vow to practice this every moment of my life. To those that are looking for the answer, it\'s in you and the higher power will show you the way.

Every tough situation is getting easier to handle and deal with. I love life again and I love being sober!!!! I can speak from the heart instead of anger. To those who have straighten their lives I appluade you!!!! God Bless Every One
Tuesday has come and gone and now I have another moment to make my life richer and stronger. I am bless by god to make each day special. Others were right about \"Willingness\". I have no desire or thoughts of using or getting high. It\'s wierd but I have turn my addiction to drugs to an addiction to God!!! I know that thanking and praising is a great feeling inside. I have found that I am not dwelling on the past or feeling hopeless. I have been able to think clearly and I am able to deal with situtions with patients and thinking before I react. Thank You God!!!!! I hope and pray for all my friends here and in my life. I am so grateful to have such friends as all of you. Thank You so much. There is hope for all we just have to ask god for his guidence.
40 days sober and what a great ride in life!!!! I am bless to have given this new life. God has given me what I have been looking for since I can remember. I keep thanking him for being there all along, the void is gone and the love is strong. I have had no urges or thoughts about using. I pray that others will find what is missing inside which is the \"Higher Power\". Simple prayers can be answered and you have to surrender to him. Thank you god!!!!!
