On Singing it Out: A Reflection
Roller coaster.
That's the best way to describe me.
Or maybe just my life.
I think I still have time to figure that out. :)
Well, hope, anyway. That's all anyone can do.
Not just PKD patients.
I don't mind the ride though.
In fact, it's been amazing. :)
I've always been a person who loves change.
Must be the Gemini in me.
Even though sometimes the changes cause some pain or heartache, the new things that come when that pain heals always makes it all seem worth it somehow.
I am so thankful for so much right now.
My friends.
My family.
The fact that I have a place to live, food to eat, internet access, that music exists...there is just so much to be happy about.
I'm not perfect though and I do have my days where I complain.
Usually bad kidney pain or bad headache days.
Today, I don't feel very well at all.
In fact, I feel downright miserable.
But I've been singing constantly since I woke up this morning.
The jams just keep kicking from my stereo and I keep belting the tunes out louder and louder.
I did this all day yesterday practically too.
I love singing.
Always have.
I should have listened to my dad and became a country singer.
Forget about Taylor Swift.
I'd be rocking the charts. :D
Kidding of course.
I love Taylor. And I love singing along and harmonizing with her and the rest of the musicians and singers who jam with me when I'm spending time by myself just to deal with my own, well...stuff. :)
I call it "singing it out".
Because sometimes that's just what I gotta do.
And it takes my mind out of the pain.
If I was physically able to I'd dance but I can dance in my head and chair dance just as well!
Does anyone reading this watch Glee? Artie's one of my favorite characters for a reason! :D And at least I can get up and shake it from time to time.
So, my advice for today...and every day really. Just find something you love to do. Something that's completely crazy even. haha I sing so loud I don't care who hears me.
And don't worry if you can't carry a tune in a bucket. Just do what you gotta do. :)
