On day shift!

Ok so after my husband gave his notice to resign, they finally put him on day shift! Hurray!  It is getting better to handle things but hubby wants to still have shorter hours.  He is looking for part time or reserves so that he can make more time to run his business.  Until he started working full time (12hr days) he loved being a police officer!  Now it has become stressful and tireing.  So many people hate the police! A lot of people think they are above the law too!  Like a councilman  who thought that he could speed!  Which I guess he can since they get their tickets fixed anyway!  And then their are those times where my husband finds himself struggling with a person on drugs and a group of people only see a young man getting roughed up! I know my husband and he has patience and a fair minded way!  It's because of this kind of attitude and misjudgement that my husband prefers traffic duty!  There tends to be less chance of a lawsuit in writing tickets!  I think most people don't know what an officer of the law goes through!  Many are sued just for doing their job!  For an example; say an officer comes on a scene and an old person has stopped breathing so he gives CPR and that cracks a few ribs!  Then the family sue him even though he saved the relative's life! They can take his house and all his worldly goods with a good lawyer!  What do you think of that?!!!  It's a wonder anyone wants to become an Officer of the law!  And yes there are lawyers for the big towns but not for the smaller ones.  And even if the department has a lawyer he may not be as good as the one the civilian has!  But thank God there are good days when my husband is thanked for doing his job!  Or when he can calm a child down by giving her a toy or stuffed animal he bought with his own money.   My husband thinks about what a child is going through when daddy or mommy are getting handcuffed or are lying on the ground unconscious.    He cares!  But in a few years he may get burnt from all of the hassles of the job! There's a high rate of suicide too! I really think that they should make people learn about this in middle or high school.   Most are not aware of all the things a policeman has to deal with.  I just hope I can keep mine from becoming something he's not because of all the stress that is piled on him for just trying to do his job!I hope all my friends have a wonderful and stress free week!  :  )

I THINK BEING A POLICE OFFICER IS ONE OF THE HARDEST & MOST DEMANDING JOBS THERE IS. IF YOU ARE FAIR & COMPASSIONATE THAT MAKES IT ALL THE MORE DIFFICULT, I THINK YOUR HUSBAND WILL BE REWARDED FOR ALL THE GOOD HE DOES FOR PEOPLE.STAY STRONG & BELIEVE IN ALL THE GOOD THINGS YOU BOTH DO IN YOUR LIVES WILL COME BACK AROUND!!!!

I\'ve always thought that too! I use to tell my first husband that whatever you do will come back to you! He didn\'t believe me till one day we were on the beach and I kept finding all the perfect sand dollars and the prettiest shells. When he asked me how I was getting all the good ones , I said maybe it was because along the way I was also picking up broken glass and throwing it in the nearest trash can they had along the whole beach! So from then on he started picking up glass and other trash from the sand and in just a few minutes found a perfect sand dollar!
