On a journey to a better me...

 1st  journal entry 5/27/2013
So here I am, at the beginning of my weight loss journey. I am just going thru the baby steps at this point. I am waiting to hear if I "qualify" for this Gastric bypass surg.
I hope to hear something good , soon.  I had tossed around getting the lap band instead of the bypass. But the doctor really encourages bypass, as he thinks it is a better choice b/c its reversible if needed, safer and easier to lose weight by.  So thats my choice.
Its all still confusing to me and alot to take in. I know that my hardest challenge will be stayn away from sweets, As my hubby, who has no weight issues wants me to bake goodies for him alot. Ive put it in my mind that, the best way to get around that is to always make things that he loves and I dont like.
I am so tired of being tired, having no energy, I hate it cause I huff n puff just going up a flight of stairs. I hate buying clothes only in th plus size section, havng to settle for the less trendier clothes....who really wants to look like grandma's twin? But most of all, I dont want to develop diabetes or have another knee replacement, which I did last Dec 2012. Im sure my weight played a big part of my knee problems. I want to run & play with my grd-son too.  Cross your fingers for me that it turns out good for me.
      Talk to ya soon!!

glad you jioned! I am in the gastric bypass surgery support group. The sweets thing will take care of itself. I love icecream but since surgery it makes me deathly sick! sweets are not worth hours of dumping syndrome and dry heaves! We are all here to support you and one another! Welcome!
