OMG The Crazy busy times

OMG I have been crazy busy lately.  I think I have bitten off more than I can chew.  This will be quick, but, here goes.
Last weekend+, did the great change out of winter for summer.  I suddenly got warm here in Arkansas.
I have been diagnosed with bone spur in my lower back.  It's from carrying around too much poundage in my midsection, and now my disks are compressed.  Chiro and doc both tell me to exercise, drink more water, and quit smoking.  The first two I have included in my daily regimen, the last, well, it's a struggle.
I submitted a violin audition to the Suzuki Association of the Americas earlier this month, and well, they didn't approve me to advance to the teacher trainings in the advanced literature.  So, it's back to the fiddle for daily playings, at least three times, of the piece to clean up the intonation, articulation, and get the tempo up to quarter note = 90, and the piece is in 2/4 time.  It's the Violin Concerto in a minor by Johann Sebastian Bach.  Love to listen to the music, just hate playing it right now.  It's the bain of my existence, but, I must get this done, and done right.  Thank God I've got free coaching for this piece.
In one month, I'll be resubmitting the audition, and our studio has our spring recital, and I'm taking on more responsibilities in that department.  Colleague is getting tired.  I still also have two more months of private lessons to give before a break.   Therefore, my time is at a premium.  I also have the house to manage and of course, 4 hours a day as a home health aide.  Sheesh.
I'm also getting up at 4:30 am and getting the tea drunk so that I can get to the gym for a 1 hour workout.  I'm determined to lose 10lbs in one month.  I went this morning for the first time, and man, I have been on an endorphin high all day.  My doctor has referred me to this free 12 week wellness program so that I can accomplish this goal.  So, it's 30 minutes of cardio and then 25 minutes of weight training.  All low impact on the back, of course.
My husband has completed his initial assignment and yesterday he was bumped up to good time class 1-C, and now he'll be earning 30 days for every month in.  The ADOC page shows his parole eligibility date has been moved up to August 1 of 2017.  Of course, he'll be reaching his six months May 6.  I really do hope they'll let him out at that time. Arkansas is crazy hateful when it comes to sex offenders, even the ones that didn't touch a child.    Opportunities to visit on a weekly basis has also come about. However, His dad and I can't really afford to drive over 300 miles round trip each week to see him.  Fortunately, Hubby understands.  He has overcome an ear infection, and he's finally gotten his eye glasses replaced.  I had to send an email to the Director of the ADC to get these done for him.  I also copied the prison warden, the director of medical for ADC, and the manager of the clinic there at Tucker minimum.  Within 72 hours of sending that email, he was being seen in the Infirmary.
I know that I've got a long slog, but, I still pray for all those other women who ae enduring even longer sentences with their loved ones.  There are days when I don't want to get out of bed.  There are days when it seems that I can't just stop crying, and there are days when I hope against all hope that the Extended Emergency Powers Act has to be invoked, and he comes home this August instead of next August.
Blessings to all.  Hope

Sounds like you are doing a good kind of busy.

Question. What kind of pain are you feeling with this compressed disks? I too have gained lots of weight, especially in my stomach area. I hate it. I have pain in lower back, into hip and butt area, then down my thigh, into the bottom part of my leg. Is this what you have? Trying to figure out HOW to exercise when it hurts so much. Can\'t afford to go to a gym. It is getting nice out so I did walk a mile last week to pick up my car. Hurt so bad, had to stop three times. But I did it.

I\'m on a recombant bicycle 20-30 minutes daily. Walking hurts too. Swimming & water aerobics is the best. Cycling & swimming are NO IMPACT which is key. Chiropractor told me to drink at least 64 oz of water daily. Water helps to fill the disks. I have pain in hip, glute, & upper thigh. Of course, alive helps w pain.
