Old Memories Die Hard
Our memories are powerful. Things or habits maybe that I did or didn't do seem to have crept back in. Covering my mouth when I talk, not making eye contact. Avoiding places because a fear of falling or fear you will become to weak and no one to help.
I was so shy when I was young & MG made that worst. I once again find my heart racing at the thought of being home alone. Not wanting to eat or drink when alone. I hate feeling this way.
Phobia's that took years to get over, being trapped on a elevator, public bathrooms where it's only one toilet that you lock( was afraid I wouldn't have the strength to open to get out).
A very dear friends husband was having surgery & I needed to use the restroom, it felt silly going back telling her please stand here so I don't have to lock the door.
I have a lot of memories that I hold near & dear to my heart, but MG ones need to go back in the box.

MG is insidious. I am sorry you are dealing with these aspects of it,
Phobias seem to be very hard to overcome. My husband one daughter and a granddaughter have problems. I can see where MG could make it all worse. Bless you. Mary
Any advice for a teenager with mg experiencing the same fears and worries? The bad days I\'ve had in the past haunt me everyday and make me fearful of the future
Yes Elinor it is insidious. I think I hate it more this time around.
Thank you Mary. I find some situations stop me in my tracks. Like elevators, I freeze at the doors.
Annie I\'m sorry you have to deal with this. I was 15 when I was diagnosed & starting high school. I was also in a new town. I see that you have had a thymectomy. Had mine when I was 19. Took some time after the surgery, but I have had 25 years of remission. They say the younger you are the more likely you will go into remission. As for the fear and worries right now, you have the right to them. But as you improve they will ease up.
