Old Dog old tricks
My ex is up to her old tricks again. Thursday night when I arrived to pick up the kids my ex was not their yet with the younger two. My oldest girl was at home but would not open then door when i came knocking. I asked her about it later and she told me she is not to open the door for anyone per her mothers instructions. I told her I am your dad and you will open the door for me, end of story. My ex when she did show up asked for my proof of AA attendance. It is not in the decree that I am suppose to do that. When I told her I did not have a record of attendance she told me she would not let me have the kids. I pointed out that I am not required to show her AA attendance and second that does she really want to do that to her kids. I offered to take an alcohol test. She told me that was not necassary. Of course it is not. It is not about my alcohlism it is about control. She relented and "allowed" me to take the kids. I contacted my lawyer the next day. He gave me some good instructions on how to deal with her. We are still awaiting the final papers to be entered on the 15th. I am sure she might want to slip in something that was not part of the judgement entered 2 weeks ago. I truly understand what my sponsor said when he said that alcohlics are not the only sick people. I got to watch my son break a board in his Karate class on friday. It was very impressive. I also got to sit with them at church on sunday. I get them again this thursday and weekend. I am going to do what ever is in best interest of my kids. My ex can play her petty games but at some point it will cost her.

You keep your faith strong, remember that you have God and others on your side & that no matter what the ex throws at you, you are strong & will do what\'s in the best interest of the kids. Some fathers take little to no interest in their children so kudos to you. Chin up!
Your commitment to your children is very evident... bravo to you for putting them first! Best, Karen
