Okie Dokie then....

Well, first, sorry guys for being "away."  Thinking of you guys, just got very busy for me.  Stayed over my mom's on Wednesday night.  Thursday, we had really bad storms and winds (gusts up to 60 MPH!)  My mom and I woke up 5AM on Thursday to crackling sounds outside and then around 5:10AM I thought I heard a freight train outside.  I genuinely thought it was a tornado.  Here, a huge oak tree, over 100 ft, fell from my mom's yard across the 4 lane highway in front of her house.  We ran to the front door and looked outside.  In the split second it took me to say to my mom I was getting the phone to call 911, two cars hit the tree head on going about 50 mph!  Long story short, I called 911.  As the two guys were getting out of their car and walking around, 2 more cars hit the tree.  Oh, what a mess.  No one seriously injured (Thank God!) except the one guy got hurt when the second round of cars hit the tree.  I think he got hit by some debris. We got on the bus to go to NYC at 6:45am.  Went to see Radio City Music Hall Christmas show with Rockettes.  It was awesome!  Went to St Patrick's Cathedral, FAO Schwartz, The Plaza Hotel, Central Park, and my personal favorite:  Rockefeller Center to see the skaters and the tree.  I wish I could figure out how to "shrink" the file size of my pictures so I can get some pictures on here as it has like a 1.5 mb or whatever max.  Got some cool photos.  Walked almost 5 miles that day and over 13,500 steps!  Friday I worked and did my bowling league on Friday night.  Saturday was 2 sessions of karate, clean my house, decorate for Christmas (no tree up yet and I have 2, and only got through about 1/2 of my 50 boxes of Christmas decorations!)  Yeah, overkill, I know, but I LOVE Christmas.  Homework also done with David.  What a pain as he had to break his right hand, the hand he writes with.  So I really have to help him with his homework and writing.  Sunday was cooking all day and birthday party for David.  In spite of the fact that my mom was my only family member that showed, it went well and was fun.  My one brother I never got hold of (his voice mail was full EVERY time I tried to call him and he NEVER answers his cell.)  My sister and other brother both said "I'll check my schedule and get back to you."  Guess what?  No call, no show.  You would think they would at least call to say they had plans!  I am so pissed.  David is their nephew.  I am always there for their kids whenever they have something.  That just really hurt my feelings. Worked from home today and got a lot done.  The cold outside and dampness is getting to me though.  I haven't done hardly any exercise and my eating has been awful again.  Gotta psyche myself up again.  I am stocked up on some Progresso soups, like my 99% fat free minestrone and some vegetable soup.  Hopefully that will keep me from eating the junk.  But it has been pretty rough.  I just gotta get to my size 10 pants!   Gotta go read The Little Engine that Could:  I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....

Oh my gosh that tree thing sounds super scary and wild!! I was just admiring Mother Nature here too!! Wow.
Sounds like some family members aren\'t stepping up and they can just come to you in the future instead of putting effort into tracking them down. Their loss.
You can, I know you can!

Yes you can do it!
Super scarey about the tree and so glad no one was seriously injured. Sad that other than your mother your family could not even call! Hope you get the pictures down sized so we can see them!

Siblings...UGH!!! I sent two of my sisters invites to go see a play in DE City this weekend and so far no response!
Did you get the snow on Saturday? Down my way it was mayhem...chaos..people knocking down old ladies in the grocery store....you know, the usual.
Your trip to New York sounds super fun...my hubby and I have been wanting to take a trip there but we just haven\'t gotten any plans solidified over the years. We kinda fell in love while on a trip there during my poetry slam days and haven\'t been back since.
Good luck with all the holiday decorating...sounds like fun to me. Sadly, I am the only one at my house who really gets into it so we usually just have the tree and that\'s it.
