OK, I start this weekend
I was at work Friday, the Dayshift supervisor came to me and asked if I'd stay. I did and then I didn't get to sleep till 6:30 pm THAT night! I really have to remember to stay in lockstep with my sleep schedule. I have to align it because I am starting next week to be working 3 OT shifts and maybe weekends also.
Why? Very simple. MONEY. I have $15K in debt and now it's time to pay them off. Thing is, I'm having to be patient with my bill payments. I can't be "Wishing" I had more money, I have to work for it. I can't gamble any more, so there's only one way to get it.
I also admit that I live in my van, the reason "Back then" was to save money, the truth was "To gamble more" and so I am facing this summer debating on buying a larger RV to live out of, but I see that my impatience is also a factor in my desire to have everything NOW. I have to wait, pay down my bills (Which I put out the insurance check to this week) and just breathe....
I'm friends with a couple of people at a homeless day center. I took cookies and checked mail (2 pieces offering lousy credit lines, trashed them) and plan to only hit them once every 2 weeks. I'll go shopping after work Fridays to Cosco (I got a "Executive membership") and this is to help make my donation money go further.
I'll be signing up for more OT. I will do a lot. Not to get recognition for it, but for the value of paying off my bills. I won't be "Assuming" or "Playing Games" regarding my paychecks. I'll wait till I get them, check to see the hours and accept what they say.
THEN I'll carefully consider which CC gets money, which doesn't and how much I'll spend for donations. Each day I am still close to making the next bet, but each day I don't, I get further from the last time, and I want that day to be in "Ancient" history...
