OIL PULLING (using coconut oil as a mouth wash) inhibits bacteria, germs, bacteria before they trave
a bob cat is walking down the driveway by my sliders right now. wow!
i am trying to switch to 79pounds again, but its still super slow so i'm cautious. have to talk to micheletj and see how that went for her. i know she is back on and she was one of the ones freezing up in her journals.
saw this thing on "oil pulling" which is really just a mouthwash with oil, but you slush it around for fifteen minutes and spit it out and its supposed to heal all things in your mouth etc. wonder if it works?
"Ayurvedic practice since ancient times. It's said that oil pulling can do everything from whiten teeth to cure eczema. On the fence about trying it? Read the facts below to see if it's the right treatment for you!
What Is It? The process is simple. Swish a spoonful of oil (coconut, sunflower, or sesame are most popular) in your mouth for 10 to 20 minutes. Then spit it out in the trash - not down the toilet or in the sink because that will only up your plumbing bill.
How It Works "People swear by it - that it can fill cavities, relieve toothaches, whiten teeth, freshen breath, absorb harmful bacteria, and cure the common cold," said Dr. Jessica Emery, DMD of Sugar Fix Dental Loft Chicago.
"From a dentist's perspective, tooth decay is caused by bacteria and studies suggest that coconut oil treated with enzymes seems to inhibit the growth of certain bacteria."
Some would also claim that it fixes acne and brightens complexions. So in layman's terms, the oil actually pulls germs and bacteria from your gums (study to back up this up claim). Overall the process is about removing the toxins from the mouth before they can travel to other parts of the body.
(sounds to me like it WORKS!!!)
Should You Try It? There is substantial evidence that oil pulling could improve your oral health, and it's a great DIY solution if you run out of mouthwash (be it a bit slimy). But as far as the claims that it's a cure-all, we're going to take our cue from Dr. Weil, who wrote, "Bottom line: Oil pulling won't hurt you, but I wouldn't depend on it to treat significant medical problems."

so i brought the animal in and they re-glued where the sutures came apart. they didn\'t mention antibiotics, though she is already on them. have to look on line and make sure its a good idea. looked icky to me. she says to use an e-collar. rn says the animal isn\'t licking it, she doesn\'t think. i didn\'t recognize her because she didn\'t have her scrubs on and i introduced myself. i should wear a sign, like jane pauley was saying in her memoir, she has that too, if she ran into her own mother somewhere that her mother normally isn\'t, or dressed different, she wouldn\'t recognize her and would introduce herself. a lot of entertainers have it as well, sales people too, because of the huge number of people they meet. but it IS embarrassing, especially if they know who you are and you really have no clue at all who they are. would be nice, if they would say, i know who you are, we met yesterday. lol. some do know to do that, others don\'t. the only time i understood how that must feel, was when i was with artists, because they would have it ALL the time, come and get me at one of my many offices and never know the people there, though the people would know who they are. nice to be amongst my own occasionally. those of us who don\'t know. lol.
reader\'s digest put a thing out about memory and people who don\'t remember faces, and they said with old age, it all evens out. all the people that you couldn\'t remember when young, as everyone gets old, they don\'t remember either. finally. lol.
Wow.. you are supposed to swish for 15 minutes! that\'s crazy! but hey, if it helps then it\'s worth a shot
i think they do that while doing other things. you can\'t do it in the bathroom because you have to spit it in the garbage.
Antibiotics are powerful compounds that are made of fungi and bacteria able to kill microbes and infection-causing agents. Ancient humans were familiar with this phenomenon and used it to treat various illnesses and healthy troubles. Ancient Egyptians applied moldy bread on infected cuts and wounds to heal them. The moldy bread is packed with fungi and bacteria that effectively kill the species that cause the infection.
However, the discovery of penicillin in 1928 put an end to the need for moldy bread to heal cuts. The power of this first true antibiotic was discovered and harnessed by Alexander Fleming.
It sounds like a good thing but I find it hard to believe that it can fill cavities. And 15 minutes sounds like a really long time. It\'s hard for me to do the ACT mouthwash for 30 seconds......as recommended.
I guess it\'s worth a try and it also sounds like all the healing properties that Apple Cider Vinegar offers....and I do believe in that.
Thanks for the great info.
I posted a journal yesterday, and it didn\'t give me any trouble. Accessing my journal is always slow, but it does happen. They keep us prolific writers in a separate storage area, I think. As long as I can access them, I\'m happy! *HUGS*
okay, i\'ll make sure from chris as well. his journals are longer than mine and have photos in them. why would it be slow to save it. and then still the worry will it disappear?
