Oh this insomnia.....
I tried taking my meds at night and went to bed at 730 last night. I awoke at 11 and couldnt go back to sleep. I tried putting on the outdoor cricket noise, thinking that if I closed my eyes and pretended I was camping, I might relax enough. No good. Ive been told it could be this Mercury in Retrograde we are going through that wont end until the end of the month. But who knows. Ive had this before but it's never gone on for so long and this severe.
Work is boring, I think I'm use to using my brain more and things have slowed down considerably. I was told by my boss this morning not to close my door. So my delimma is, stopping the dude from talking to me. I thought closing my door sent a clear message and also not talking to other people in the office. Plus all the noise bother's me, makes it hard to concentrate.

I can easily believe Mercury in Retrograde is responsible for the extra tensions I have been feeling all around me here on the South Plains, but awareness of astronomical activity hasn't consoled me much in coping with my own sleep deprivation. I enhanced my camping fantasy by sleeping by the fire pit behind the honey barn and watching the flames dance has helped me to rest, but. . . Luckily my hearing woes make the noise factor a non-issue but that is far from the only irritation available to get on sleep deprived nerves. Grumble, grumble, grouse, grouse. . . This one ain't passing fast enough for pleasing this people.
Where can I find a leg to chew? Preferably an innocent one. The guilty are much quicker to fight back and the lack of sleep has sapped way too much energy for me to volunteer for a fair fight.
Sigh. . . Mercury's butt is definitely too big for me to tackle, even on my best days. I s'pose that makes him big enough to shoulder the blame. Insert Rolling Stones here. "Hey, you, get off of my retrograde."
Would it be possible for you to wear earplugs for the sake of better concentration? If boss has a problem with it, tell him it's a compromise from not being allowed to close the door. The noise affects my concentration.
Reading a book will put me to sleep. Also chamoil tea or labrador tea. Advil pm also helps.
I usually listen to my inner teacher and rarely read astrology.
God Bless
I cannot wear earplugs as I am the backup for the irritating lady who sits at the front desk. I had thought about taking Melatonin however I was afraid it might interfere with the meds I'm taking which already make me drousy. I guess I should reach out to my doctor and find out if its okay to take a sleep aid with the meds I'm taking. I don't look so much into the tarot cards but studies of astronomy have been used for thousands of years and tend to lean torward some of it's subject matter.
I miss camping but it's so blasted hot in Florida this time of year. I long for the winter months when the temps here dip down into the 50's or below for perfect campfire weather.
Years ago, I worked two jobs. I would get up at 1:30 am and deliver 500 newspapers for my motor route and I did this for about 4 hours... depending on the weather. Then I would go home, have breakfast and a coffee and go work 10 hours in a woodworking shop and I did this for 15 years. When I first started, It was difficult getting adjusted to having only 5 hours of sleep at night but I figured if I could fall right to sleep, and sleep deeply, then that should be enough sleep.
I tried meditation to help me get to sleep faster. I didn't have the internet back then so I was on my own. What I did was repeat one word over and over again, in my mind and so I chose the word God. It took a few months of practice but eventually, I was able to fall asleep within 5 minutes. Over time, I didn't even have to meditate anymore. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was always out like a light and nothing would wake me up! That was all it took was just the initial time to focus on that one word.
I would wake up feeling well rested like I had slept for 8 hours!
There are many good .... guided meditations on you tube....if you are interested.
God Bless
Thanks BobinMaine, I thought I might make a dr's appt today, but you know they'd probably prescribe something, Ill try the meditation first. Thanks.
