Oh this Clomiophene is making me blue!
Well, I don't know what to make of todays events and am not sure that this is the right forum...I suppose it doesn't matter too much as I doubt many people read this....and it is all kind of interrelated I guess....So I went to a nutritionist/personal trainer/lifestyle coach as I have been feeling really down about my body and how I feel like it is letting me down. I used to be a lot bigger than I am now and have kept off a significant amount of weight for a good 6 years now but I just feel like I am on the verge of losing that control. I have lost a fair bit of motivation lately and thought that maybe going to someone else might inspire me to get back in the gym working hard again.
So My appointment was today. I had emailed her through my food diary and also an indication of what kind of exercise I was doing. She blew me out of the water with what she said. First up she asked me straight out what my number one priority was...I responded that we are trying to get pregnant and that is therefore my number one priority. A close second, however, is for me to become alot leaner than I am at the moment. I am by no means big but I am bigger than I would like to be and I think it is important to be your best as it shapes every part of one's life.
She told me that my current lifestyle was far too intense and has restricted me to only 5 sessions per week lasting 45 mins MAX each. Whats more, she has given me a food plan that has almost doubled the amount that I currently eat.....seriously...her snack portions are as big as my lunch size! Her argument is that I am putting waaay too much stress on my body and therefore it is not the type of body that would be able to get pregnant as is.
I am really not complaining about this plan as I love food, so being given permission to eat more is always good....but I have this almighty fear that I am going to stack on the weight. She has assured me that I won't, and reckons that I will start ovulating on my own (without the help of all the drugs) once my body get more food and less exercise. (Ps am still going with the fertility treatments though!)
Anyway, it is a lot to take in....but I think that the main thing is the stress..I need to reduce that anyway I can....which leads me onto my 3 things for today:
1. The beautiful sunshine streaming in my window warming me up whilst I am typing this.
2. THe democratic society in which I am able to live freely. NZ is first world country that believes and exercises equal rights no matter what race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliation etc. For that, I am truly grateful.
3.I know I have already said my husband on a previous day but I think he deserves another mention. One of the things this nutritionist told me about was quite interesting....I have passed this onto my husband who will no doubt come home with a huge amount of literature on said topic. He takes an interest in what I am interested in...always...and he supports me in whatever I do. For that I am grateful.
Over and out for now....

Love this journal! Yay for more food and a little less exercise. This isn\'t the first time I have heard of a nutritionist saying that. I bet you feel 100x better in a couple weeks!
Aww thanks! It means alot. I have been really down with this huge dose of clomid lately and this community has been a huge help..especially lovely comments such as yours: )
