Oh, The Pain!
My tooth is hurting even more today than it was yesterday. I guess the Novacain lasted longer than I thought. I had to take a Vicodin, and even that wore off after a while. I had therapy today, so I was out and about. I stopped by a Subway and a Panera Bread to get cups of ice to put on my jaw. I looked crazy sitting on the bus with a cup pressed against my face, but it's not like I'm ever going to see these people again. It's just totally distracting. I took another Vicodin about an hour ago, and the pain is down to a manageable level. I should be able to fall asleep. I did take a nap today and slept on the other side of my jaw. I think I'm going to have to do that tonight as well. I tried putting an ice pack on my jaw, but it just didn't do anything. I need to do another gargle with warm salt water. I'm not sure if there is part of the roots left in the tooth. I feel something solid in the hole. I might have to go get it checked out tomorrow. I don't know if I would have to pay again, since it was the dentist's mistake. I hope I don't have to pay more money.
Besides my tooth, today was a good day. I made it to my therapist on time, and we talked about my Nana a lot. She says that I'm doing everything I can to process her passing. She's glad I got to go to the funeral and be there for my family. Now I just have to worry about my mom and my stepdad. My mom might have early stage Parkinson's or MS, she's not sure which. I don't know much about either one, but it's scary that she might have something bigger to worry about than another stroke. Speaking of strokes, I think my stepdad had one on Sunday morning. I've been fighting with him to go to the doctor, and checking up on him every night. Even with all this, I've been in a good mood. Worried, but in a good mood. I just am trying to look on the bright side of things.
I can't wait until I can exercise again. It seems that every time I want to start up again, I get another injury. Right now it's my tooth. Every time my heart gets pumping, my tooth starts throbbing. Someone told me that when it's throbbing it's healing, but I don't think that means that I should start going for my walks again. I walked to work and back, and that's about it. I haven't gone for any of my walks lately. I miss them. I've been wanting to walk ever since my Nana died, but I haven't been able to for one reason or another. Well, I did get one walk in when I was in LA when my sister refused to drop me off at my stepdad's house and left me a couple blocks away. This was the night that we were doing the sorting of the pictures and working on the collages. She didn't want to get near my stepdad since their falling out when she was a kid.
I keep saying that I'm going to try and go to bed early and it just doesn't happen. Last night I tried going to bed at 8pm because I had to be up early today, but I didn't fall asleep until almost 10. Tonight I'm going to try and be asleep by 10 so I can be up early tomorrow for work. I need to start getting up early for work. I talked to my old bosses today, and they said that they would recommend me for the position that I'm applying for. Even my old boss in Managed Care who fights for me to go over there and help them said that she would support me. She did express some concern that I might not be able to make it since she was my boss when I was going through the bad time of the year, but I told her I'm good. As long as the job is for decent hours (I can start anytime after 9 or 10) then it should be okay. I just don't think I can get up for an 8am job.
Food today was okay... I'm just within my calorie range. I had a couple of hot dogs today which had a ton of calories in them. If I had known how bad they were for me, I wouldn't have eaten them, I would have ate something else. I didn't even really get to enjoy them since they were hard to fit into my mouth. I have limited jaw opening ability. Same thing happened at breakfast with my bagel. I'm able to get most of it into my mouth, but I have to take tiny bites. And this is with a mini bagel, not even a regular size bagel. Hopefully tomorrow they will have soup or something that I can eat at work. I wish I had some soup that I could take and heat up over there, but I don't. I need to go to the store and get some stuff that I can eat. I don't know if Geo's dad will let us borrow the car or not. If not, I guess I will have to take the bus to the store, because the food we have here isn't cutting it for my jaw.

Hopefully you get to the dentist this Friday and donot have to suffer all weekend. Could it be a dry socket? I hear they are quite painful. Smokers and using a straw are the biggest culprits for getting a dry socket.
I am glad your therapist put you at ease regarding your Nana. Give the greiving time and relish the great memories.
