Oh no! I made a big mistake.

I regret to say that I have a new sobriety date: July 7th. On July 6th, after seeing my pain doctor I took my last eight norco 10/325 and some benadryl. Why? I don't know. I knew I would never have norco 10/325 again, and maybe that has something to do with it. In any case, I am fessing up, right away I have already been in touch with my support network. There are no more pills left to abuse. Mom has benadryl, but I promised myself to keep my little fingers off of them.
I do have some good news. First of all, my pain is under very good control, so much so that my pain patch has had the dose cut, the pain pills have had the dose cut too. I use a TENS unit now, and I also have a pain cream, which has pain medicine, muscle relaxants, and other meds in it. It works locally only, so no side effects. I use about 2 grams a dose and it costs me a dollar a gram, but it is SO worth it.
Bad news: I had a bad allergic reaction to the neurontin I was taking so no more of that.
Good news: I broke my weight plateau of 182 and am now down to 169.
Bad news: I am severely anemic. I am now taking iron.
Good news: Mom and I split the cost of a cleaning lady, so life is a little easier for me.
Good news: My dose of Cymbalta was cut from 120 to 60, and it made my motivation improve. I may ask the MD for a further reduction on Monday.
Good news: I have a new friend, who started out as a boyfriend, but is now a good friend. Being boyfriend and girlfriend was too much stress for me. He is bipolar too. I like him a lot. We may end up boyfriend and girlfriend again someday. Who knows.
Bad news: Papi's Parkinson's disease is getting worse. He now gets intermittent periods of confusion. : (
Good news: Mom just finished a round of physical therapy, so she is doing very well, and Papi just started a round of physical therapy himself.
That about sums it up. I missed you all, and I am sorry I was away so long.

Well Ayla, You certainly have a mix of good news and bad. Sorry to hear about the bad. But a phrase I heard in Al-Anon is \"You can always start your day over.\" I use it when I flub up somedays or start out with a bad attitude. That\'s great that you\'ve met a new friend we can always use a new friend and if it turns into something else well that would be good too! Glad to see you back! Nester
*hugs* Thank you for being honest. Sometimes we just do stupid things and we have to learn to overcome. I know you can do it.... you are strong! Let this new sobriety date last for years to come.
