Officially Canceled...
Well, we got the word today that my RE did not recommend proceeding to egg retrieval, but left it up to us to decide. We have been in agreement with his plan and agreed it was best not to move forward.
Key Issues:
Lining (always an issue!) - barely made it to .7, added Letrozole to help, but it didn't do the job
E2 - 1,047 as of today, RE wanted it at least 1,500
Follicles - I was reasonably pleased that we had 5-6 mature follicles with a few additional smaller ones. Ideally, I'd like more.
Anyway, they are having me take a BIG dose of progesterone in oil (ouch!), which will trick my body and make me have a period in a couple weeks. I can only imagine how this will mess up my already funky body.
We are understandably disappointed, but said from the beginning we wanted ideal conditions before moving forward to ER. We'll schedule a follow up with the RE to discuss the next steps and the things we will do differently. I have told him from the beginning, I am not the average patient. I expect some protocol revisions. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.
The frustrating part is that this whole 4-year journey has been nothing but TRIAL and ERROR. I guess that's why they call it "practicing" medicine.

I am so sorry Allison! It just plain sucks when your body doesn\'t cooperate. Something that is so easy for almost the whole planet is literally like pulling down the moon for some of us. Completely baffling, frustrating and unfair. I think it was a good idea to cancel since the chances for success didn\'t seem to be on your side. I don\'t have any suggestions, as I always had the opposite problem and tended to hyperstimulate with a bunch of totally crappy eggs! In any event, don\'t give up you will find your silver lining and a bundle of joy at the end of the rainbow, even if you have to weather a few more storms. I just know it in my heart. Hang in there and let me know what your RE says.
I am so sorry that you were cancelled. My last cycle was also cancelled due to a lack of response. However, we were given the option to convert to IUI. As you were not offered that I guess that it was not an option for you. I want to wish you all the best with your consult & hope you figure out something. Hugs
It sucks. I am always amazed at how far medicine has come and then there are folks like us that get to keep trying different things until there is a magical combination (which we know takes a toll emotionally and physically...oh and financially). I hope the RE has some answers and suggestions. You seem to have a pretty good attitude- one of the things I love about you! Hang in there, girl - your time is coming!
