Off to the bazarre

Today Cousin Betty came over and collected my mother's excess craft books and her old television for the bazarre at the church. She has contacts at the church that can get the stuff out of her car so that she doesn't have to life anything. Tomorrow, I'm going to talk to my mother about the cook books, to see if they can go, as well.
Getting those things out will clear the hallway, and make more room in the garage, which will be needed should she come home. I have to check quite a few things out before that happens, not the least of which is a handicap ramp, because I'm not going to go through that again.
She doesn't seem to be doing any physical therapy, as yet, so there is some time. I am still not convinced that she will be coming home, anyway. She has been better this week, but she has to work at it in order to come home, and has not been.
She has never been really active, and I've never seen her do anything that could be called "excercise" in her life. Really, she's quite lazy and not a small bit depressed since my father and brother died - and probably quite a bit before that, as well. I don't think that her life worked out quite like she wanted it to.
When she was in high school she had ambition - she got herself a scholorship and worked herself through college at the phone company. When she got her batchelor's degree she started teaching at her old high school (the same school that the girl is attending now), and at that time, that was quite something.
She graduated high school in 1948 - college in 1952. She was married in 1954 and her first child was born in 1955. She had 4 children, altogether, and did not return to work until I was in high school. But that was only part time.
Never good at housework, I grew up in a messy, cluttered house. It wasn't really dirty, but very cluttered. Apparently, the house that we grew up in came furnished (as the prior owner had died, leaving all the furniture behind). All that extra furniture was never disposed of, but stored in either the porch or basement - neither of which was passable.
It was very hard to adjust to not having an excess of furniture around when I left home - and now that I am in my mother's house, I'm trying to work on thinning things out even more.
