Off-grid

It is a bright and glorious morning in Charleston, West Virginia this morning. I sure wish I was viewing it in a campground instead of a balcony overlooking an interstate mix-maker. Sorta. Sitting through yesterday's rain would have been miserable, but the crisp clean air of this morning is delicious enough to make me wonder if it would have been worth the discomfort.

Google tells me Kanawha State Forest is about 10 miles south of here and there are sporting goods chain stores on the way. Guess where I am headed this morning. We see where I land this evening. The thought of nights away from my internet connections has me tweaking like med-head in front of a closed pharmacy counter. Is this really me, La Loba, trembling at the thought of being off-grid? Maybe there is something to Hubby's nickname for our internet toys. He calls them, "E-crack."

I am taking extra care with the packing this morning. Protocol shift. . . Boy Toy needs the attention, anyway. Driving the least popular vehicle in the driveway means the truck was dirty and neglected when we left Texas a few thousand gas guzzling miles ago. He's been holding up like a real trooper, though. So far. Knock wood.

OMG, that's gorgeous country! Wish I was tent-camping there myself.:-) New River Gorge is another good one, but oh, that's some good air down there. E-crack notwithstanding... you can do as our ancestors did and draw your thoughts in the dirt?... Safe travel

I'm more of a "cabin camper"...I love mattresses in all forms...as well as my comforter and pillows.

I have also known deer to be very loud eaters (I've been woken up by them eating two feet from my head on the other side of a tent in a national park).
