Odeta Stuikys Rose’s journey to become a Doctor

I was born on December 5th, 1985 in USA. My father Paul Stuikys Rose was a mechanic and my mother Doris was a house wife. I wasn’t planning to become a doctor since forever. It all started when my father diagnosed with brain tumor. My family did everything to make sure that he got better but all our efforts have gone waste. In the next eight months of the diagnosis, he died.

This led to me (Odeta Stuikys) making a decision of becoming a Doctor I swore to myself that I will never in my life again allow such ordeal like this to happen to anyone. Therefore, I worked very hard and I earned a B.S Degree in Medical Science at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and after that I became a Doctor of Medicine. This was part of my fulfilling their heart desire in helping those who may have been undergoing the same situation like mine. Later on, I decided to specialize in Cancer and I did very well. I managed to secure a job in the Mayo Clinic, which is a top-notch facility ranked as the third best hospital for cancer treatment in the States.

My Career Path

My dream of  helping those people who are suffering from cancer, took a step forward when I finished my studies and became a Doctor of Medicine, In the beginning I was working in the Rochester General Hospital, and after sometimes I decided to specialize in the field of cancer, and soon after I moved to Mayo clinic, every praise will always land on my extraordinary skills, I considered brilliant in all my actions around the clinic with the cancerous patients and my good character makes me very charismatic. Many people who have met me and even those who have heard about my work simply love me and my kindness is out of this world. The Mayo Clinic considers me to be among the best Doctors that the clinic has ever had.

My Personal Life

One impressive thing about Odeta is that my life is very selfless. I have been dedicating my entire lifetime in making other people life better, that I find myself not paying attention to my own, this is seen after I lost my father all I ever did was studying and became a doctor and helped those other people when I can, this drive and motivation is generated from the fact that I cannot do it for my father so I always tend to put my life aside and focused on my studying so as to ensure that I don’t lose focus on my goals and objectives. It is not long that I have found the man of my dreams, the lucky man to have such a brilliant and beautiful woman in his life is Mike Johnson, the recently engaged on January 5th and by the coming fall I will be wedding to fulfill my dream wedding, this is just one of the beautiful things that are happening in my life but I am doing more to put smile on other people.

It is very rare in life to come across people as me, “Odeta Stuikys Rose”. Many people who undergo such trauma in the life of losing a loved one have a very difficult time coping up in school, at the job and having even friends. For me this was a challenge to me that I wanted to do better. I never saw this as a challenge but took it in my hands to turn the situation around and make it a stepping stone to help those who may have undergone the same situation and still feel that the world is ending for them.

People in professions such as mine should definitely emulate good character; the kindness and love that I expect to those who are undergoing difficult situation just like cancer make those suffering to have a hope of having better days.

What Makes Me the Doctor?

After having my father dying of cancer it is very obvious that the news hit me and my family very hard, the family was very close to one another and we lived very happily and from the news, the drive that led me to make a decision to become a doctor is because of my father. Medicine is not an easy field to pursue especially if you are doing through situations such as stress, what astonishes many is that regardless of the time and feelings that I was going through I managed to become a doctor and fought every odd to specialize in cancer to fulfill my dreams of helping other people.

Secondly, being a woman in the field of medicine is also very outstanding. In that era not so many women could take the challenge of becoming a doctor and be able to balance duties at home and manage work life, for me I dedicated all my time to studies and helping others, this is just amazing for me - said by Odeta Stuikys Rose.
