Odie...
I feel so empty... So angry... Angry at myself, angry at God, angry at the people who owned the stupid dogs who mauled my dog, Odie. Odie... My best friend. Odie... who I'll never see ever again. I'll never hear his bark, never touch his fur, never feel his cold tongue ever again.
I want to yell, scream, cry, beat down everything from here to who knows where. I want to beg for a do-over. I have begged for a do-over. To close my eyes and be in a Groundhog Day moment. I want this all to be a nightmare that I can wake up from. But no matter how hard I plead, how many times I close my eyes, how much I wish everything remains the same. Odie is dead. My baby is dead!
God, the pain. Pure agony. Like someone took a jagged piece of glass and just started hacking at my heart, leaving this gaping hole that just wont be filled.
Everywhere I look I'm reminded of Odie, and it sparks a new hurt. Those beautiful brown eyes... I just can't get them out of my head. The way he last looked at me as if to say, "Please don't let me die, mum". God, I'm so sorry, Odie. I'm so so sorry. I'd give anything for another chance.
I still can't accept he's gone. I never thought I'd lose him. I thought the vet would fix him and to hell with how much it cost. It was so unexpected. He was so vibrant... like a puppy really with all that boundless energy. To think that a life so full of, well, life could be snuffed out. I can't accept that.
I want to shout at God, ask Him why He took my baby away. If He wanted to punish me He should have left Odie out of it. Odie was innocent. He didn't deserve this. It's not fair. Odie shouldn't have had to die. He was the best dog ever.
Damn it!
