Well it is finally fall, and I have very mixed feelings about it.  In a way I am happy that the days are cool and crisp and the colors spectacular.  However, this year I really feel we were cheated out of a summer here in the Northeast.  We experienced horrible drought, then tremendous storms in August.  The one week my husband and I went to MA we were unable to get even one beach day while down there due to cloudy and rainy days.
Now, we are experiencing a really strange infestation of insects called "stink bugs."  I have never seen so many (even more than Lady Bugs) invade my property and get into my house.  To make things even worse I am terrified of insects! What the heck am I doing living in the country??  These are large flying insects with maybe six legs and really ugly.  When you squash them and kill them, they emit an extremely powerful odor that reminds of of cut grass, but very over-powering!  A news report claims that they can endanger all vegetation and crops here in the Northeast.  The report stated that these insects are originally from China.
I cannot help but wonder if man is somehow responsible for these weird things happening in our enviorment, including this infestation. I have always been against insecticides and poisons, but I am seriously considering their use in the spring.

Bugs.....stink bugs yes they are awful. We still are fighting Mosquitos. This is because of the weather. The country does bring crawling and flying critters.

Sorry your trip to the beach was a bust for beach time. Hope you at least had some good seafood.
