Hi everyone,  Here is a summary of all the places I lived in:
-91 Bryant Street, Buffalo - I was 24 years old and wanted to move out of my parents home.  My sister's roommate from Brockport State wanted to come to Buffalo and live so naturally that was a good reason to move out.  Her name was Lisa.  I was excited to finally leave my parents and we moved to an apt that was on the 3rd floor walk up.  It was cold and dreary.  I had a job that I hated, an apt I hated.  $450 includes heat and water.
-1993 Crescent Street, Buffalo - Lisa and I moved near the Buffalo Zoo.  At this time I was canned from my job and worked several temp jobs that I absolutely hated.  I also worked at this nursing home as a receptionist Part time.  In 1991-92, was the hardest years for me workwise.  Lisa and my sister moved out west and I had a series of roommates at the crescent ave apt.  The worst roommate was the last one I had, my friend Peggy from back in my years at the community college.  She jipped me on rent, utilities.  1000 in utility bills - she thought it was funny to run 900 # on the phone bill.  $425 includes heat and water
-1995 Nash road, North Tonawanda - I finally got my own place without roommates - I felt like I was in heaven.  I lived in a 3 family house, in the back.  I had the longest driveway so winter was always an issue with digging out.  I lived 50 miles away from my family.  I did have my x bf (bf at the time) he lived in town with his family.  Things were really good at this place.  The only thing that bothered me was that I didn't have a refrigerator and had a small refrigerator that bearly let me keep food in.  I think those were the good years with the x bf.  In early 1995, he asked me to move in with him.  So I did.  Rent: 425 includes heat and water
-1997 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda - I moved in with my x bf.  things were really great at first but then I was really resenting that I moved out of a great place to be in a nowhere relationship.  It started to get really bad - he was drinking more and found other women's phone #'s in his wallet (a sign of cheating).  things got so bad that he didn't come home at night,  we went to florida the last 3 months we were togther and did whatever he could to stay away from me (including talking his 3 uncles into coming down to florida at the same time, so he can be without).  He even cheated on me with his receptionist.  When I finally got out of the picture in mid 1997, she didn't want him anymore.  The excitement was gone.
-1998 Parkside Ave, North Buffalo - I got out of my x's house and moved directly across the street from the zoo and the park.  It was a very hard time for me, getting over my x.  I've had lots of dates but nothing ever came of it during this time.  I just wasn't ready.  My x bf from HS came to visit me in the city - hoping to rekindle something but it was the worst possible time.  I dated this fireman but he was too afraid to talk to me.  I went to my friend's wedding solo and cried at the reception.  It was a sensitive time for me.   One of my running friends liked me and I kept dodging him.  I spent a lot of time, running around the park, doing several 5K races and enjoying getting to know my neighbors in the apartment complex.  I also had a major car accident in late 1997 and totalled it - got a new car about mid November 1997.  Rent:  405.00 includes heat and water
-1999 Military Road, Tonawanda.  I thought it would be wise to regroup and move into my friends house for a short time.  He charged me $400.00.  Yes, my roommate was male and thought he was the best roommate I have ever had.  Still think that.  I rented one of his bedrooms out and that included the dish so I can watch any movie or whatever.  Took me hours to go through all the stations.  I also learned how to maneuver the internet during this time period and he set me up with my very first email account.  I was so excited.  He was dating a 28 year old - he was 52.  They broke up and he started to spend more time at home so I didn't have any privacy, which bothered me.  It was time to move on!
-2000 Tacoma Ave, North Buffalo - 3rd time returning to the Buffalo Zoo area.  This place was humungous.  3 bedroom flat.  Large living room.  I didn't have the room to furnish it.  My landlords were elderly, over the age of 80.  Mr Sciandra was one of our homecare patients with his wife.  My good friend Maryjo found the place for me (she was always looking out for me).  They were nice people but didn't let me have any company.  One time in late 1999, I had a clothing party - invited my aunts, mother, cousins a few friends.  I warned them that they were coming and the immediately said "no, that can't happen"  I told them it was too late, they were on their way.  Sure enough, they scrowled.  The party ended at 9:30pm and they didn't say a thing.  Forget about having BF over, that was out of the question. I always had to go over their places (one guy's place was such a pigsty and smelled like a lockerroom - BAD!!).  I got so fed up that I stayed 6 months and moved back home.  Rent:  $450.00
-2001 Fairview Street, Angola - back home the 1st time.  It wasn't that bad but felt funny being home and being under my parents roof.  My brother had moved out a month before to live with his x gf (gf at the time).  he had a waterbed and it was the worst I ever slept.  I saved up as much as I could and moved out fairly quickly.  I think I stayed home about 8 months.  That was enough for me.
-2003 Chatsworth Ave, Kenmore.  I moved back out to the same general area as my x roommate.  This was a complex also owned by the Parkside apts that I lived in back in 1997.  It was a great place.  Lived in a building that had a single girl, single guy with about 3 other elderly ladies.  I lived on the top floor - 2nd floor across the hall from the single guy.  things were kinda alright.  Did a lot of serial online dating at the time but eventually got engaged to this guy who was a friend's son from running.  I moved out in winter 2002 due to the engagement and moved back home a 2nd time so I could save money for the wedding (which was to take place August 2, 2003).  Rent: $485.00 includes heat and water
-2006 Fairview Street, Angola - back home the 2nd time.  Things got really bad between my x fiance and myself so I broke it off.  He was an unemployed druggie that had no direction.  what was I thinking.  Glad to get out of that one.  In 2004, I decided to get back to school and get my associates degree.  Stayed home for an additional 2 years and moved out so I can get closer to school and I wouldn't have to drive so late.
-2009 Teachers Lane, Orchard Park.  Loved this apartment.  I think I was the happiest here.  These years were the best.  I was going to school at night, living only 4 miles from campus.  Had a nice pool area to swim in during the summers.  This place was down the street from the Buffalo Bills stadium and it was a pain during football season.  My one friend Jen, use to live in the apartment complex (different building - there was an apartment across the hall from her but I declined that one - a little too close for comfort).  The only issue I had with this place was that the rents went up every year - $20.00.  I started out with $650.00, then $670.00, then $690.00, then it would have been $710.00 but moved out.  They wanted me to stay, would have dropped the rent another $5.00 (No!  How about $100.00 - no can do - goodbye!). I don't know what kind of people they are getting there but the last I heard there was a husband, wife and child with dog living in my old place.   I was suppose to move into a duplex in Cheektowaga but the landlords plans went south and gave me the security deposit back.  Then I was suppose to move to this place south of the city but the landlords husband didn't want me. So I found something pretty damn quick.  Month to month - perfect.
-2010 Kirby Ave, Lackawanna.  For a temporary location - it wasn't that bad.  The neighborhood was so so.  The tenants downstairs - connie and her 2 kids weren't bad at first.  It was approaching the summer months so they were outside most of the time.  The son was a 15 year old ADHD kid who screamed a lot.  He was severe.  Everything was loud in the house.  I could hear her scream at the kids all the time.  The apartment was all hardwood floors throughout.  Nice size, the bedrooms were very small but I utilized the 3 bedrooms to the best I could.  there use to be an elderly man who lived there before me (could smell old man smell for the 1st 2 months - but it went away during the summer).  The bathroom was off of of the bedrooms.  I think the landlords did it that way so he could get to it quicker.  The landlords husband was pretty sneaky.  He was always over checking things - never felt like I was safe.  He yelled at me the 1st 3 weeks I was there saying I tampered with the furnace.  Not.  I was involved with finding a new tenant (a single girl whose father lived down the street) but I knew what their intentions were - they wanted info about connie and the kids.  I heard that they evicted her and the kids and it took them 3 months to do this.  They went to court and got them out.
-present.  Remember when I mentioned about the duplex that I was suppose to move into - the landlords side that he had plans on moving out of.  Well, one day, i was looking at the hospital swap board online and noticed this add that sounded just like that place with the landlords name and phone #.  I freaked, printed it off and showed one of the girls in the office.  She said "Oh Jen, you have to findout whats it all about".  I did.  Kevin was so happy to hear from me. It was the place on the other side of him.   Told him what was going on with the old place and wanted out.  He rented it to me for $615.00 includes appliances.  He got me a stove and refig.  Unfortunately, I gotten breast cancer and couldn't move in until Feb 2010.  He was real good about that and took his time to get the appliances.  Here I stay, happily.  I have my friend who lives right around the corner and has been extremely supportive to me.  Kevin has been a wonderful landlord and neighbor.  Not getting into my business (unlike my tacoma St landlord!).  Hope to stay for another year or 2.  We shall see.  I still would love to move back down to Orchard Park again.  Someday.....
thats it.  13 times.  People have called me a gypsy.   So many people have helped me move throughout the years.  Family, friends.  The list goes on and on.  I don't think I have 1 person who helped me move all 13 times.
