Can't believe I fell off the wagon this week with the exercising. I will have to try again this week. Probably because I had the worst period since May! I had a few accidents and had to use shout on my pjs. I also wanted to get my 24 hr urine culture test. It would have been a bloody mess in the urine container and I could just hear my nephrologist say "you need to get in to see Dr Swaitek the urologist because you have severe blood in your urine" He probably would have made me do that bladder colposcopy test, all for what - because i had a heavy period. Now I have to wait until next week, Not sure if the results will be in my nephrologist office by the 28th, if I do this on Monday. Knowing that I had this heavy period - I probably will have this awful pad thing on until sunday night. The life of being perimenupausal. Watch next month I don't have a period.
Chopped my hair off last weekend. 4 1/2 inches off. It looks good. The only thing Peggy need to do next time is to make sure my ends near my ears are colored. I tend to get grey there (more or less, white!). My hair is covered so it shouldn't be too bad. I just have to remember to go back around mid feb to get it cut again and not wait 6 months. It was so long, I couldn't stand it.
My landlord went overseas to visit his friend in Vietnam. Good for him. I think he left today and won't be back until the 31st. It should be nice and quiet. One of his friends will come over and check on Nella, the dog (who never barks!). His girlfriend Jen (he must like that name! I am Jen, his tenant and his girlfriend is Jen - of course I am just as bad - My landlord is Kevin and my brother is Kevin..LOL!!) will take the dog the remainder of the time.. He is a nice guy, extremely young - about 30. I knew eventually I would start getting younger landlords. The oldest landlord I ever had was 83 (Mrs Sciandra - Nice lady but who was so nosey and wouldn't let me have any friends over, I moved out of there in 6 months). I will journal my apartments and their situations sometime soon.
I went to a Kidney disease nutritional class last week and got a lot of good info. Seemed like she was also giving us Kidney disease 101. Stuff that I learned in Anatomy II. I think she was aiming toward the non-medical person who didn't know what kidneys do. I was the only one there so i had to sit there and listen to it. It was really beneath me alittle bit. The only interesting part was the nutritional aspect. found out I can't even eat the good stuff. Watch potassium, protein and sodium. Yesterday, I received a call from a woman who does the support groups. Most of the people there have CKD, which I do not have - its PKD. I suppose its all the same thing except I have cysts on them. I am only stage II so its good to start now, while I am feeling quite normal. The kidney foundation will put an ad in to find other PKD patients. The closest PKD foundation group is Syracuse. thats 3 hours away.
Grandma isn't doing good. Apparently she lost another 10 lbs (now down to 95 lbs). The nursing home wants to give her a feeding tube but grandma does not, mom is the power of attorney so she told them no. So, they will give her palative care. Its just a matter of time. She lived a long time 89. Not like my other great aunt - who lived to 97. When my great aunt was 89, she was still living on her own at on of the prestigious adult homes in the area (she was paying some 3,000 a month in rent - she was there for 4 years!). I will explain about my great aunt another time. Please pray that she is comfortable. I highly doubt that Grandma will bounce back this time.
