O2 firsts
Not sure whether to write this in my journal or a post. I'll prolly (thanks for that great word debbear) write in my journal then just a portion in a post. Or maybe not, we shall see.
Well, I didn't think the oxygen would be anything but wonderful. It is good in that I am getting around easier. I guess there is a man who ran a marathon with his O2 in a trailer. I was kinda hoping for that kind of energy. Ha. Maybe I have to work up to it.
So the kids are coming this weekend. Big birthday bash for the girls planned. Going to a park and having KFC and doin' it right. This will be my first time out and about with my oxygen. I'm kinda scared and kinda sad and kinda happy. I'm trying to put the happy out there strongest.
Happy because I can breathe better. Happy because I will be with those I love most, except Puppy. She'll be at home. Happy for all the warmth and caring that goes with being in our family.
I think I will leave it at that. Happy happy happy!

It does take a bit to get use to wearing your O2 in public. A little embarrassment and feeling freaky are not uncommon thoughts. But just think how you would feel if you didn\'t have it with you and trying to do your weekly shopping. I know I am much better and secure with my portable when I\'m out and about. You\'ll be just fine and if anyone should ask, I just look them in the eyes and tell them, \"DON\'T SMOKE!\"
Tis good that you are getting positive results from the O2. It does take a bit to get used to. I\'ve never gotten anything but kindness from others. Even women stop and hold doors for me! Now that takes a mite getting used to, as I was taught the other way around.
Remember when you do exercise or any other strenuous activity, your O2 requirement may go up - make sure you monitor it and talk to your doc if your SPO2 drops below 90...
Hugs,
Dennis
Dee, Smiling, I have been out and about dragging my oxygen for a few years now, the 1st couple times, I was a bit embarassed, but I got over that quickly. And it was amazing how many people wanted to chat you about it, and how warm and accepting folks were, so you will be fine. BTW if you do graduate to running marathons with your O2 please tell me I will make a very special trip to see that.
Dee it is so so nice to see you writing your journal again. I am so happy to have you back here. You keep up the great work, and enjoy the birthday activities and the KFC, lord to l love some KFC. Please take care, Be safe, Bill xox
